Is it possible to win a Triple Crown and Cy Young in the same season? Time to start playing Wood everyday.

Long way from over, but with a 6-1 lead and Wood pitching, a sweep is looking good! Peavy anything but dominant. Hell he hasn't even got the pitcher out in 2 at bats....Yeah, I know Wood is a far better than average hitting pitcher, but still...

A grand slam for Travis Wood? WOW! You know it's not your day when the starting pitcher goes deep in the NL park!

You would really know it wasn't your day when he did it in an AL park.

Travis Wood would be a middle of the order hitter for the Sux.

Looks like another quality start for Wood, even with the wind blowing out. Lets see if they can finally retire him in his next at bat?

Really...?

No, but his batting average is currently higher than some of the guys in the Sox batting order (besides the pitcher).

Russell with another good outing...and the rookie gets an out on a hard hit ball to Valbuena. The job Russell has done gets little notice because he's on a losing team. But he's been very good. Pile on some more in the 7th, before the rains come.....

New idea. We schedule 162 games against the White Sox next year.

final tally (until the rainout is played) Cubs runs 24, Sox runs 6. Cubs sweep at home to clinch the season series. Now, lets see if the revamped bullpen can do a better job and help the team get on an extended run.
