let down series as the Cubs clearly geared up to battle the team in whose shadow they exist 361 other days of the year

Just b/c the Sox played like dogshit doesn't mean you have to emulate them in your posts.

The umpiring crew that stayed up until after 3A this morning to work the Royals' rain delayed win over the Cardinals are here to work the Diamondbacks/Cubs' series this weekend. Guess who was part of that crew? You guessed it...Joe West.

And wouldn't you know it? The rain that delayed that ballgame in St. Louis last night and into this morning might follow them here...

Nice to see them play so well against a good team. Looks like the momentum is still with them and the confidence has got to be building. Amazing what a difference a bit of confisence can make. If you think back to all the games blown by some poor bullpen performances, it's not tough to imagine this team as being pretty respectable. 5 in a row....not bad. Samardzjia can make it 6 tomorrow.

Castro's suckage is starting to piss me off. Figure it the fuck out man. He is basically an 8 hole hitter right now. Won't work the count, never walks, can't hit for average and has no power.

Settle down man he is hitting 260, not like he is Adam Dunn or anything.

I know but he seems to have hit some kind of wall and it started last year. The pitchers have adjusted to him and he hasn't found a way to adjust to that adjustment.

Dammit swaimer!!! get him out. You have Villenueva so put him in the damn game instead of leaving shark out there to die. He has not had a great game but has battled his ass off through 6. Idiot Swaimer.

Damn Jackson is awful. Didn't like the signing when it happened, and I hate it more and more each time he starts. Dale also with a awful job of managing the 6th inning here. Left Jackson in way to long. 4 wild pitches today, brutal.

Fucking piece of shit was one of the worst signings in team history. I said before he was signed that it would be a huge mistake to sign him and I hope the steaming pile of monkey spunk gets injured just so I don't have to watch him pitch. If not for jackson and Marmol, they might have a respectable record.

I didn't mind going out and getting Jackson but I did not care for the commitment and the money he got.

Its also good to see Marmol is back to form walking 6 batters in his last 2 outings. Great stuff right there from the 10 million dollar arm.

Well, had they signed him for 5 million a year, yeah that would be okay for a guy that came into the season a game under .500 for his career, with a 4.40 ERA. But 14 million a year and as many years as he gor....ridiculous. Marmol could have been traded for Dan Haren, but they nixed the deal....bad decision.
