7 minutes in, and already bitching about the fucking show pot that he didn't invest a dime in. Then while talking about Mitch possibly going to WGN, he takes a swipe at Garry Meier. You insufferable douche, with the game show host cadence, you should be lucky to sniff a career as successful as Meier's. Kirkwood's quip about him being completely devoid of a shred of self awareness is the truest statement posted here this year.

He's the worst kind of person. A guy who loves to fire on others but is a sensitive crybaby when some fires on him. My mother used to say, "If you're going to pitch, you better learn how to catch."

What did he say about Meier? I've been listening more and more to him and Brandmeier.

Meier, right guy at the right time, not really talented in any way.

But the Spiegs issues on the show pot is kinda weird.

I was one of the few people here that defended this Caller Bob when he was chosen by Mac. I said give him time he's not that bad. There was a point where I was even saying he was a good fit, and the show had finally hit its stride. No more! This turd has to go. Finfer, Jurko, forgive me Lord, even Laurence "Urkel" Holmes and his comic book collection and mulatto colored Fleshlight would be a vast improvement over this whiny, pissy, complex ridden, name your kid after a fucking sandwich lump of flesh!

I nominate myself for Douchebag Of The Year for ever defending this fuckstain!!!

He said, in that condescending tone he gets that I haven't heard since Bruce Wolf, "That's ok Mac, you'll do a great show with Garry Meier."

I'll admit I'm a huge Garry Meier fan, and I'll concede he's kinda become everything he used to hate in his stint at WGN. That said, he gets a lifetime pass from me for the 13 1/2 years of gold with Dahl, and his 7 year tour with Roe Conn. I feel the same way about Ringo Starr. His career after 1970 is dogshit, but he was a fucking Beatle!

Plus I think Gary actually has the best regular show on WGN currently.

Same, I was a member of Team Meatpants. Either he wasn't as bitchy when he started or I didn't notice at first. Gotta give props to Urlacher's Missing Neck, he identified Candyman's bullshit from the start.

I agree. I know that's the tallest midget award, but I don't mind his show. Yeah, giving away lemon merangue pies for four hours is pretty lame, but he's 63 years old for crissakes. I'm not expecting '87 Dahl & Meier at this juncture.

Spiegel has been on this show for going on 4 years now. Why has the board hatred only started to intensify this year? Hasn't he always been this way? It's like somebody suddenly turned the Spiegel contempt oven up to high about four months ago.

I would argue his 'talent' is knowing his role as a second banana to a great show

I think it started around the Candyman and Part-Timer incident.

How big would a Spiegel oven be?

Reminds me of a story from last fall. GF and I bought a new oven. Lowe's was delivering it. First, they had to take out the old one. Apparently it wouldn't through the kitchen doorway. I was at a wake, so this is all through my GF. But, apparently, the Lowe's delivery guys believed that the contractor put the oven in first, then built the kitchen around it.

Yeah, the show is pretty much the same since they had a few months to grow together.

I remember the part-timer thing, but where does Candyman come from anyway?

More evidence and then when you start to connect the dots you start to see things in a different light.

There was a lot of talk about how he brought an intern on the air and embarrassed him for not understanding the value of getting Spiegel his lunch, but other things have happened since that make it harder to dismiss that as simply a poor choice.

Spiegel was complaining about something. Cannot remember what, but someone called in and referred to him as Candyman for his complaints. He got very pissy about it.
