Didn't Robb get his head cut off and they sewed the head of the dead direwolf on his body and threw it into a river?

COOL KID SPOILER RESPONSE

That does indeed happen to Rob but Cat is the one who gets tossed into the river.

The Animals by Pink Floyd has been in my brain since the televised massacre, that was the Red Wedding, occurred.

A lot of the lyrics and such kinda, sorta evoke this imagery.

That was pretty good. I was very surprised but I don't take the show as personally as some of those people
obviously do.

I've decided I'm going to stop liking characters on this show. Feel like it's going to make life easier in the long run.

I watched the 10pm b/c I wanted to watch the Hawks and a bit of the Axe-Men finale...(don't hate).
I've also read the book summaries on wiki, but we forget things...anywho.

So...question(s) for the book readers.

Was your reaction in any way similar to those people in the video?
I know its not the same, but was that scene a "holy fuck!?!?!" when reading?

It was pretty holy fuck, but Tywin Lannister kinda/sorta alludes to something big going down earlier in the book in talks with Tyrion.

When it starts happening, yeah, it's like holy fuck. Difference is that Robb's wife isn't there, she stayed back at Riverrun and there is a another small subplot (if you can call it that) concerning her house.

Because it is a book...it is all happening over multiple pages rather than so condensed like the TV show...but yeah...it is a WTF moment. As SomeGuy said...you know Tywin has something up his sleeve from earlier chapters but you never know any details at all. And the show tried harder to "trick" the viewer as to not see it coming. The added wedding ceremony scenes attempt to make the viewer believe everything has been smoothed over and things are going to be okay...as does the reception until the Rains starts playing.

My only hope is that all the viewers knew that as the Lannister's song. I think Cat's reactions are very well done...but I hope most viewers made the connection quickly.

The song has been explained a few times over the seasons, most recently by Cersei to Margery...that was pretty detailed and in your face.

No clue to the song concept for the average fan...just a book readers easter egg?

So what happened to the guy who got married? Did they kill him too?

My wife asks why I watch this show as I can't explain a goddamn thing that happens. I summed it up to her thusly, "Sometimes they show boobs."

Is it described in the book how his wife was hidden given how she was so much hotter than her sisters?

I haven't watched the whole episode yet, just the RW on youtube, but I heard there was no Robbwind. Maybe next week in a RW aftermath. Rumor has it that scene was filmed. That look Roose Bolton gives Catelyn Stark right before the killing starts is awesome.

I watched a couple reaction videos. Any straight man who cries at a television show is a bitch. Straight up. Turn in your balls and claim your vagina.

He likely won't.

Martin has explained many times that he consciously avoids predictability and he does not cater toward the wont for traditional heroes. Matter of fact, he kills off your favorite characters for that very rebellious reason.

He has already mentioned that this entire saga will end in "a bittersweet manner".

He's lying. Actually gotta put pen to paper for a book series to end instead of fork into mouth.

Despite knowing what was going to happen it was incredibly powerful. Can't wait to see the roommate's reaction to it. Poor bastard is going in blind.

The first time I read it I thought I misread. I re-read it and then dropped F bombs and called George a bunch of nasty names and didn't go back and read it for a week or so I was so pissed off. I am glad I went back to it and kept reading though :) Well until they get to Mereen (amirite Hank!) but that is a ways away....

That was pretty much my reaction as well jackref. Matter of fact I just watched the episode and I still wanted to drag Walder Frey from that chair and eat his fucking soul. Roose Bolton too. Cocksuckers.

Just like I'd rather not read a movie script prior to seeing the movie, I don't want to read books before I see movies from books.

If my imagination was that good, I'd be living it up in Hollywood making movies and tv shows. Leave it to the professionals.

Show failed to correctly portray the atmosphere of dread in the novel. That's disappointing because the show creators are on record saying this was the one scene they most wanted to portray. The actors were all good but the production and direction was sub par. The episode ran a bit short so I don't see why they couldn't add a couple more minutes to the wedding scene.

All the viewers I talked to had no idea that was the Lannister song. Even my mom, who read the first 3 books recently and is now reading book 4, didn't know.

I think they thought they did a good job with the song because they've played it and had it sung countless times throughout all 3 seasons of the show, but I guess they were wrong in that assumption. Given the amount of characters you have to keep track of I'm not surprised that people watching didn't bother to register the details of the song as being a potentially important bit of information to hang onto.

The one thing that annoyed me about the episode is that I really wish they would've included some scenes to show how the wolf didn't want Rob to enter the castle and how he attacked one of the Freys outside the castle. I think even Catlyn told him he should listen to his wolf, but Rob was like "look at me I'm the king I don't need no stupid wolf to tell me what to do, I'm so smart I have chess pieces of all my friends and enemies and I have a hot wife so screw you wolf!" I wanted that in there so the viewers could've seen yet another reason why Rob was an idiot who got what he deserved.

Is that true about Cat not coming back as a zombie? Any have a link to support that?

It think the show did a great job at conveying that. Direction was good and so was the production was stellar. I would have liked to see a bit more lead up to it, though, with his dire wolf and such. But the show runners didn't want to give away to much and spoil it, I think they did a fantastic job.

I think maybe you were watching "Say Yes to the Dress" or something.

I think Zizou was referring to the dread in the leadup. The reception was supposed to have a really awkward atmosphere before shit went down and I don't think viewers got that.
