SEATTLE -- Jake Peavy's MRI revealed a non-displaced rib fracture on his left side and he will be shut down for four-to-six weeks. The only treatment for him is rest.

X-rays taken at Safeco Field after he left Tuesday's start did not show a fracture, but Peavy had an MRI just two hours before Wednesday's game. White Sox manager Robin Ventura said that Hector Santiago would move back into the rotation to fill Peavy's spot.

"Yeah, again, you get all the tests you can and see what it is and you go from there," Ventura said before the MRI results were known. "It's just one of those until you get that information, the only thing you can really do is kind of line up Hector in that spot."

Didnt I see an article of how amazing Don Cooper was at keeping everyone healthy? Because of some workout regime that nobody else could ever think of with throwing between starts....LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES!

Danks, Floyd, Peavy, Sale all agree with this amazing healing power

You read correct, bigfan. Going into this year, I believe the Sox has the least amount of time that starting pitchers have spent on the DL over the last 6-8 seasons. Not sure how this year is going to effect those numbers, but they will still certainly be in the bottom half, and probably even the bottom quarter.

Sox have thrown a lot of money out thie window on injured starters this year. Does JR get insureance money for those missed starts?
