Bernstein when he speaks about Christianity is ignorant and wrong-headed. Like Mini Ditka, hate-mongering seems to arouse him, especially when he comes to topics he knows absolutely nothing about. Bernstein builds himself up on a pedestal of reason, logic, evidence, etc., but that all collapses once he gets into social commentary. He can have whatever opinion he wants, but in the process of doing so he's become everything he supposedly hates.

IIRC, isn't part of B and B's anger towards Alford stem from an interview and Alford hung up on them. I agree that Alford is an asshat. I seem to remember there being an intwrview that started all of this. It could be my imaginary radio again.

when ucla hired alford they replayed the old alford interview on B&B (Check the podcasts it was right after UCLA hired him). Alford got testy when he was questioned/presured on the pierre pierce issue by B&B.... alford kept trying to deflect or talk about the team.... it was a little awkward but not crazy angry like dan was yesterday with the caller

Today and Tuesday, I actually laughed at something on Ten Seconds of Glory. Yet, it's painfully obvious the hosts and crew hate every response submitted. Why bother continuing it if it's so bad?

part of the reason its bad is because its recorded locally, so the sound quality is perfect. just like how bernsie sounds better and smarter on am radio... callers sound better on the phone then they do in real life.

he definitely has a "christian complex" but this rant was more about his personal thing against alford. even back in '03 with that interview, bernstein's agenda was to go after alford.

i have nothing but loathing for college coaches; i think a good percentage are soulless political asswipes. but it's not like alford's the only one who deserves a witch hunt. and bernstein acting as if this were his own daughter or something is over the top.

i do think that alford calling that situation a "mistake" and "unfortunate" is typical of the sort of reason why i hate coaches like him. but there are worse things out there...bernstein's just mad because alford didn't suffer any real consequences and some of that is fair.
