After testing positive for Adderall, will Jonathon Gray slip at all in the draft? Will the Cubs still draft him if Mark Appell is taken 1st by Houston? There are many current players that have been granted Theraputic Use Exemptions for the use of Adderall, according to ESPN's Keith Law, so it's possible that his positive test will have no real impact.

sounds like if Appel gets taken by the Astros, the Cubs will take a position player. Although that seems rather unlikely.

My guess is zero impact. But I do think the Cubs will go Appel with #2 anyway.

I think if anything. This makes the Astros decision easier. I would think now if anything would be lost it would be signing bonus money. I think the Cubs take whoever the Astros don't take between Harvey and Appel.

Keith Law just did is final mock, has Appel going #1. Reading another article saying "Hearing #Cubs have good feel for what it will take to sign Appel and that it is likely more than Houston wants to pay"

I guess we'll use this as the de facto draft thread.

I can't see the Cubs going for Bryant. Either Appel or Gray would immediately be the #1 prospect at their position. Bryant is not as clear cut. They have some IF and OF depth in the system, the lack of pitching depth is well discussed.

Obviously thinking of former Cubs first round pick Mike Harkey.

Some people have the Cubs seriously looking at Bryant, since positional players are a safer pick. Still think you go with one of the arms, IMO.

Was it a growler or did you paint the bowl?
