franchise changing

no room for a Gold Glove fielding second baseman in the future because of all the stockpiled infield talent

You even bit on my Wacha v Shea McClellin thing. I figured it was time for a nap.

I'm really kind of losing it today. However, the name Wacha always brings to mind Fozzy Bear, which makes me smile even in the worst of times.

It would be a great night to get drunk. Instead, I have to go to Henry VIII which is about the total opposite of getting drunk. Maybe I'll see another neighbor with his mistress again this time.

It's been a while since I've seen the play. Can anyone tell me if there is any nudity in Henry VIII?

But think of all the good sections of tickets you will be able to buy at the Cell, or whatever they rename it when they buy it from the state.

That looks like Wrigley in the 70's.

So in 10 years the Sox will hire Kasper and the Cubs will promote Jim DeShaies to GM.

Thats true. I remember when (before 1984) you could walk up the day of a game and buy a box seat ticket. There were no Club box, field box and all that crap, it was either a box seat, mezzanine, bleacher or upper deck. I remember it being a big deal to draw over a million fans in a season. Then 1984 (thanks to Dallas Green) changed it all. The Cubs took over as the town favorite and have never looked back. Now, with all the good young talent in the system and the south side deteriorating as they are, the gap between the 2 is bound to become greater than ever.

And he Cubs will broadcast all of their games on CubsNet while the Sox switch all of theirs to WGN.

Then the Cubs will be mostly decent while being marginalized while the Sox suck at heretofore untold levels and will be the popular hangout for the new generation of hipster fans.

I started this thread as a joke.

I woke up on Saturday morning to listen to Cubs fans and their media enablers talking about how this guy is MLB ready today.

No nudity at the play on Friday and no apparent infidelity in the crowd. However, I did get to witness two sets of old people almost coming to blows with some young couple for talking for nearly the entire first act. Good times....by the way, that was a great play...well acted and expertly produced. If you are an infrequent theatergoer in this city I would definitely recommend the Shakespeare as a place to spend your money over more well know places like Steppenwolf.

Who? I'd be beyond ecstatic if Bryant is ready late 2014. Sometime in 2015 is more realistic.

Rosenbloom, who is normally a much more sober in his projections.

That is surprising. I'll have to read what he said. I forget the exact stat, but of the some 1500 players drafted 2 years ago, only 11 are in the MLB and their combined career war is like 1.5. I think people associate the rules of the NFL draft and apply it to baseball. Couple that with the recent notable exceptions of Harper etc and creates a lot of dumb thoughts.
