But as I was drinking my lunch at the Curragh on Lincoln Avenue, some douchebag Russian kid with no trace of an accent was raking an old Russian man for his American patriotism. The stupid kid suggested that the Russians really won WWII and didn't need U.S. assistance. The old guy tried to tell him it wasn't that way but the kid was having none of it. The kid was going on and on about the greatness of Russia. Somebody said, "And yet you're in Skokie." The kid scoffed that the U.S. won two world wars. A younger guy who was sitting with the old Russian said, "That's right, baby! Back to back World War Champions! I was very happy when Portugal won. Fuck soccer and fuck fake-ass Russians in Skokie!

I don't know, but he was hammered when I left. He argued with the old man about the last time Russia qualified for the World Cup. He said they made it the time before last. I just looked it up and he was wrong. They haven't made the group stage since 2002.
