Even being a sportsfan, it is fairly easy to avoid the circus that surrounds him. I don't picture Dan and Terry glued to ESPN anyway. Otherwise the guy has very little identification in the NFL.

Maybe it's a combination of directive from above and just realizing that Tebow drives ratings. There's a reason ESPN devoted so much time to his story, SC was doing great ratings.

Had Mike & Mike on this morning for some reason and they essentially said that some people hyped Tebow a little too much. It was too meta for me that early in the morning.

Wow Mike and Mike said Tebow was hyped too much? I seem to recall Greeny and all of the other ESPN on air talent slobbering all over Tebow's knob

It was quite humorous.

Because Tebow has had the same amount of success as their love Cutler.

but even as the deride ESPN for the coverage, they do the same thing but with a negative slant.

Some boob called in yesterday wondering (with B and B support) how an NFL team could ever think of taking a flyer on the guy as a TE without any experience at the position. Meanwhile, every team in the league is on the lookout for the next college power forward that they can convert to the position. The guy went on further about his lack of blocking skills ignorant of the fact a good portion of the TE in the league cannot, do not and are not asked to block.

This doesn't even get to the fact that a team that is probably the best at managing personell thinks he has something worth looking at.

It's hysterically hypocritical when B&B devote significant time in their show to Tebow bashing. Why does ESPN cover him so much? I know, let's spend an hour ripping him to shreds. That'll show that we don't like talking about him!

Bernsie said that Brady would be upset by the move.

I think the ESPN coverage is pretext for a different reason that they don't want to verbalize.

Aren't we all in agreement that it's because of his religious believes? They put a fucking voodoo curse on Kurt Warner for his for crissakes!

He's another weird-talking white Christian cracker. Plus, the Booyahs love him. That's a prime Beerstain nemesis.

It's true but I just don't get the incredulity. It's not like Tebow was some slug, unathletic, pocket passer at Florida. He was a really good athlete, which is the type of college guy Dan loves. Josh Cribbs wanted to be a QB for while. Seneca Wallace has been a largely bad QB offering not much more than athleticism for years. The group of backup QBs largely suck. Third string QBs are usually either developmental or a guy who sucks but has proven he can win a game in a pinch. Doesn't Tebow fit this mold? Isn't he a better QB than Bear 3rd stringer Blanchard?

They act like "the circus" around him is destructive to a team. The Jets were that same team before Tebow arrived. The Broncos won while he was there. The only Bronco I remember complaining was Dennayius Thomas and that was because he wanted more credit for the OT TD. He may be bad, but you cannot make a case for destructive.

Instead of some balanced approach we get sycophantic applause from Schmutzie.

As an aside, no one mentioned the doug e mail read on the air. I'm officially giving doug his recognition.

It's the perceived religious self-promotion that angers Bernsie: Warner, now Tebow.

I can't remember Warner using religion to promote himself, or at least not to the extent that Tebow has.

Warner appeared to back off after he left St. Louis. He was also out of the limelight until he popped back up in Arizona.
Tebow remains in the spotlight -- that's why it appears to seem so preachy.

I think it is that these two give thanks whenever possible. They say God is the reason they accomplished something. Dan's aversion to religion in this regard is pretty well known. Throw in the fan/espn love and its right up his alley.

the score crew should tie up Bernsie and have someone do an exorcism on him.

He did say it yesterday afternoon.

Poor Tom. With his 3 Super Bowls, supermodel wife, millions of dollars, and legions of asskissers. He might be upset!

Dan was struggling with this move. You can tell he admires the Patriots front office and he was having a hard time rationalizing the decision to sign Tebow.

Narratives were colliding.

Must be why Matty is no longer on the Cubs beat, because he asked so many tough questions to the coaches and just wouldnt lay off when the coach said he was done talking about a subject they didnt want him around any longer. Nice job, Scoop!!

Tim Tebow makes Bernsie feel tingly in his pants. Dan's not comfortable w/ those feelings.

I'm not threatened by him, I just think he's a lousy football player and I've had about enough of his breathless love of everything.

It sickens me.

I wouldn't call Seneca Wallace bad, he's pretty decent back up.
Tebow will score at least one n probably 2 tds against the jets. Belichick will make this bum useful.
