My mom had a Peugot 305 wagon. Two things I remember. It had dark vinyl seats that were scaldingly hot in the summer. It was broke. Often.

I sat in the "back back" on a family reunion trip to Jackson, MS and back. Good Times. Listening to a lot of La Schmoove by The Fu Schnickens

No need for a response. That's the kind of post you just need to let breathe.

We had a 1982 Ford Fairmont. Slightly smaller than the Family Truckster.

loved riding in the way back

Family vacations used to include my grandparents. I don't know how we packed everything in there. I used to get a little area in the way back carved out between suitcases. My dad would always get Winchell's or Amy Joy Donuts the night before a car trip and leave by 6 am.

My girlfriend senior year in high school drove a station wagon. The way back was good...

I loved Amy Joy as a youth. Are they still around?

Just a bit too young for the wagon craze. We did have a 1990 Astro van though.

The other day I saw a dude driving an exact replica of the Family Truckster. The license plate said TRUXTR and he even had the suitcases on top. It looked awesome. I tried to take a picture but the asshole in front of me was going too slow and I couldn't catch up.

You hate it now, but wait until you drive it.

Yup! That and a Cadillac that was driven about 20 miles a month. We went everywhere in that station wagon and it never died.

Lol! I wish. Never understood how you could get your "dream" car and clean it more than you drive it.

Yeah. Kind of like getting a new couch and then only using it when company comes to visit.

I can't wait to get a Cadillac one day. They've always been my favorite car even when they had the ugly design phase.

What? You think that I have never ridden in a Cadillac? I have ridden in a Cadillac hundreds of times. Thousands!

I wish the car companies would make more station wagons.

And I'm not talking about the tiny faux wagons. I'm talking a Country Squire-ish ride with some room in it.

And no we never had one....our cars growing up were a 73 Torino and a 77 Marquis.

We had a silver then a blue Buick Regal. The silver one got jacked, then the blue one (used) was a piece of shit. After that, my mom didn't bother w/ cars anymore.

My mom had a Town and Country Wagon. Thing was a monster, had a 440 if I remember it correctly. She used to laugh her ass off while flying off the line at red lights. Got some odd looks. Pops sold it and bought a goddamn Safari, which I bought in 93. I loved that van. Bench seats all came out. It was my party wagon.
