I'm honestly confused as to why none of the midday hosts WENT to the game.
Terry: understood, he doesn't really care about sports, rather he just likes to get paid to stammer and stutter and rephrase sports thoughts.
meatpants: lazy guy, maybe comfiness of the stadium seats is an issue?
McNeil: poser fan, enough said.
Bernstein: sent his NJ-born wife and hockey fanatic son, and he stayed home to watch it on TV....because, yah, that makes sense. Why would the guy who makes his living talking sports actually go to a game?

How would a hosts opinion be improved by going to the game? See everything much better sitting at home watching in on TV w/ the benefit of a DVR and a notepad right there.

It is kind of weird that none of them went to the game. I mean, why the hell not? I assume they could get a press pass or freebie somehow. Terry risked his life driving home through tornados rather than just hang around and go to the game. A big shooter like him can't afford $75 for a livery ride home?

"Why" would they go?

A: it'd be awesome
B: it'd be free
C: if you're Bernstein, you could hang around afterwards and ask. the. tough. questions.
D: since your job is to talk sports for a living, popping in to the FINALS of your city's team shouldn't seem like a strange thing (or, at the least, literally leaving the area around the arena right BEFORE game time to simply "go home and watch it" should be viewed as odd).

Agree to disagree. Someone actively watching the game at home will be able to do a much better job describing plays and x's and o's after the fact than a TV in a pressbox or any experience at the game. I don't need my hosts to tell me the place was loud or people were excited.
