Weather delay now. Looks like they will be stopped for at least an hour.

The golf course is almost exactly where the 476 Interstate logo is on this map

Well we are off and running today. No idea how the scoring will be. A lot of people think the scoring
will be historically low with a wet and short course. I would tend to agree but I heard this morning
that the rough was a bit longer than they had anticipated and due to the wet grounds they can't get
equipment out to cut it. Thick, long rough that is wet can be extremely penal. You can easily make
a big number just by missing the fairway here so I think that will help correct the scores some. I'll
be surprised if a score of -15 or better wins this tournament

I doubt we will see -15, but I can see the winning score being about -10 to -12, if the greens are wet.

Poulterdouche birdied the first three holes.

That is about the range I would guess for the winning score as well. Too low for this championship but
there is nothing you can do about the weather.

I just read that Mickelson took the redeye last night to make his 7:10tee time this morning. Why in the world wouldn't he have gotten to PA yesterday, or even earlier to play a practice round?

He attended his daughter's 8th grade graduation yesterday. His flight landed in Philly at 4:00 AM.

What is 8th grade graduation? My nephew had pre-school graduation this week. I don't remember any of this
stuff when I was little. Seems a bit ridiculous to me but I am not a parent so maybe it is a big deal. 8th grade
graduation is probably a big deal for the kids that will end up dropping out of high school.

Makes no sense but its an opportunity for parents to take pictures and post them on facebook.

Ok, I can see that. Kind of like participation trophies for kids that don't play sports, they just wear a cap and gown.

They're back.

The Tiger Rory group now tees off at 3:40something our time.

Saying Mickelson took the "red eye" is a little much. It's his private jet with whatever the hell he wants on it. Probably not much different than us deciding to jump in the car and drive a couple hours.

As far as the graduation, I think 8th grade has been done for awhile. Kind of a transition to semi-grown up in high school. The K and elementary school stuff.... I don't get.

Alright so he didn't fly commercial. He still spent all night in a plane and did not have a ton of practice.

I'm pretty sure he was there earlier this week and then flew back and forth for the graduation.

Yeah I don't see that happening. I'll say -4

One conspiracy theory that I've heard is USGA president Mike Davis wants the winner to shoot an incredible score at Merion. Doing so would place a spotlight on how golf equipment -- specifically the golf ball -- is "threatening the game".

Tiger with a nice up n down from the sand for a bird. Rory with a really nice scramble to save par. Hopefully play only stops later for darkness and not weather.

I thought more about this last night. The school I attended in 8th grade actually had 7th, 8th and 9th grade.
This likely explains my ignorance towards an 8th grade graduation as I never had one.

Even for the professionals, 240+ yard par 3's are brutal. Its almost unfair. 4 is not a bad score on some of these.

Wicker baskets, and they are a long standing tradition of the Country Club.

Power of google saved me.

Could have looked it up before I posted here, but where's the fun in that? Just seems like extra crap for a ball to hit off of to me.

Tiger almost holed his third shot on the Par 5, 2nd hole from 105 yards out.

Adam Scott can't putt.

The online announcers literally could not give anymore verbal fellatio to Tiger.
