You love football on TV. That isn't loving football. That's loving a TV show.

?? So you have to watch everything live to like it?
This is just a continuation of this argument: http://score670.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=48985

I assume since you are a newer poster and probably didn't even know that section exists that you never saw it.

Yes, I'd seen it before, and it's nonsense. Football is King in America, and watching games on TV makes you as much of a fan as anyone else.

Maybe--if we're talking about a freshman.

Scott in Davenport better be on the B&B payroll. Otherwise he wastes a lot of time being their lap statistician.

Yes, agreed. My favorite moments are when Dan questions that it's odd that Scott hasn't sent in some ridiculous stat...yet. I don't know, I guess guys can just be fans but it seems like most of these "super fans" (see Ten Foot Dickwad, Elmhurst Steve, Schmutzie etc) come across as creepy or desperate or lonely or something. I know the same argument can be made for people posting here, and I will offer up beardown as an example to add to the above list.

I haven't gone through and looked at Dan's @ mentions on Twitter, but I do also find it odd how he (a majority of the time) only seems to pull Schmutzie tweets to recite on the air....maybe he follows him, I don't know, but not once have I ever heard one of his Tweets read where I thought "good call reading that one, Dan. That was interesting!"

They don't pay him shit, which tells me that he's an over obsessed fan boy who gets his rocks off hearing Dan mention his name on the air. He sure puts in a lot of work gratis. I lived in Davenport for a spell. The fact that a guy like this exists there isn't much of a surprise to me.

Thanks?

McNeil: big fan. Abandoned the team years ago, which was hard, but that championship back in '10 really brought him back. Big Chief MacHawk. Good thing we have a guy like this steering the ship of one of our talk shows! What a fan.

His favorite team gets back to the Finals. He is doing a remote broadcast LITERALLY down the street from the stadium. A stadium he surely could have gotten into. He's a HUGE fan, not a poser, so surely he did what ANY fan (in that situation) would do and went to the game. I mean what an opportunity! No brainer. I mean, he used to have to settle for nosebleed seats in the rafters back when was screaming at Bannerman....now, he is right down the street with the ability to pull a press pass/sit in someone's suite based on his "status". Wait, what's that? He drove home to Indiana? Watched the game at home? Wait, this guy's a real fan. Surely with the circumstances he found himself in, he chose not to battle the potentially awful road conditions to.....wait, he did? He drove home. But he's a huge fan. Big Chief MacHawk. Is this thing on?

I did not. Why would you want to spend your Friday night watching children that arent related to you play sports? I guess if a good friend had a kid playing I would go but other than that it seems creepy.

Why not hang out at the little league field to watch some baseball games?

Can someone call QCP and ask that a DCFS agent be at the remote tomorrow? Bob In Niles is coming, drinky even has helped him get that bus schedule all dialed in. Y'know, cause it's HILARIOUS! This old addled man is going to hop on a bus and be mocked, in person, by a few mean-spirited bags!

For serious, though, I'd love for one of his kids to show up and demand an explanation as to why Dan finds it good form to use his dad as a character on his radio show.

The emails that BernSTINE receives are all too perfectly timed, dovetail too perfectly with the narrative/talking point(s)...you get the picture. It's like these "totally random" emailers know the show topics before they are even brought up.....it's like they are in BernSTINE's head.

Really strange.

My buddy coaches a LL baseball team. No kids on the team are related to him. His fiancee's son is on the squad. Need a ruling. Am I in the wrong for attending two playoff games last year to support said friend? They were damn good games. Side note: I drove my car and left the windowless van at home.

I like your angle. But doesn't Bernstein release a outline for the show online before they go on air? Furthermore if you listen to any B&B it's not hard to figure out where they are going to be heading over the course of the show. Penn State....Concussions.....LeBron.....If you were a panstless cretin desperate for approval how hard would it be to figure out what Dan's talking points would be and then send in a wordy email for him to read on the air while you masturbate at home content at another job well done.

Is it really that surprising that Dan's asslickers would take time out of their busy schedules to help him prove whatever point he's trying to make? The very existence of Schmutzie should eliminate any doubt that as to whether these emails are real.

Wait, Bernstein sculpting something to fit a "narrative"???? NO!

I'd jump in on your conspiracy theory, Sir, but these Murph-like emails would suggest that anyone on this show (outside of "tanny") actually gives a big enough crap to do some prep.

This is true, but the emails are too specific, too long and sound too close to something BernSTINE himself would write. It fits all too perfectly.

This is my narrative!

I guess you don't love that band. You love cd's and mp3's.

There's a huge difference between live music and mp3s. And there are very few bands that I'd say I "loved" that played in my time that I haven't seen play.
