See, if being racist was a problem FOR ME, being called out for it would be an issue. But it's not. As far as post Softball activities go, that's never been a part of it. Perhaps you play in some "special" league that has incorporated such festivities, I do not. The website design doesn't interest me. It's unimportant to me and I couldn't care any less about it. But I will continue on with the Wallpapering and painting business, thanks. But no work for me today, it's a beautiful day and after checking on a work site and dropping off some material, I'm going golfing. Sunny and 74 degrees-gotta do it. Plus, the weather this weekend looks like it gonna be kinda crummy.

What a great business owner you are... 'The website doesnt interest me.' Yeah, who uses the internet to research companies they want to hire.

I guess you must drum up a lot of business at all the Klan rallies though so at least you have that going for you...which is nice.

I have developed many outstanding business relationships and enjoy a tremendous amount of repeat business. In addition, my existing customers refer me to their friends, neighbors, relatives and fellow business owners. It's the best kind of advertising there is. The internet stuff is often a waste of time, very much like advertising in the yellow pages or a local newspaper. People that call, are also calling several others that are advertising in the same publication. Doesn't matter (very often) if I am gonna do superior prep work, use superior materials and do a far better job, they most often will go with the cheapest price.....period. For a start-up company, the internet, yellow pages and local advertising might be a good way to get their name out there and find customers. For me, it's a lot of wasted time doing estimates for people just looking for the cheapest deal. I would rather spend the time golfing. Life is short and you can't take it with you. Gotta enjoy the ride.

Nothing at all wrong with word of mouth and other referrals. It still reflects very, very poorly upon you and your "company" to have typos and stolen pictures on your website.

I will repeat, I have NO interest in the website and have looked at it just once in my life. I have probably a hundred pictures I have taken to use on the site and not bothered to post any, because I just don't care about it enough to bother. If you ever have a business to run, do so as you see fit. But as a lazy shit that spends company time on the internet daily, I doubt you have the requisite skills needed to run anything but your mouth, so thats never gonna happen. I have learned over decades what works and what doesn't and I do what has proven to work well for me. Your opinion means nothing.

No-you are stupid to think it's an important tool in my business. Like I said, it is very similar to the yellow pages and local advertising with reguards to kind of contacts it generates. The people that respond are almost without exception, those shopping several contractors and almost without exception looking for the lowest price. Forget what kind of products you are using or how much prep/repair is done and how well the tradesman does his job, it's all about the price. Those kinds of customers...I'm not interested. Worry about the business you work for. With shitty employees like you that waste company time on internet threads daily, that business has much bigger problems.

A website is an important tool in any business. To think otherwise is stupid.

Websites are the same as the yellow pages? That is just a whole new level of stupid.

In terms of the kind of contacts they generate. Try reading a bit more carefully. If you don't understand, it's because you have no experience dealing with various kinds of customer contacts over decades and learning/recognizing the kinds of customers each generates.

You are lying. If you didn't care about the website you wouldn't have one or you'd take it down. It makes your whole operation look bad. If a guy can't even spell check his own website how much detail will he have for mistakes made with his other work?

I think we all get the concept that not all customers are good customers, but your business looks bad by having such a bad website. You really should just shut it down.

The world wide web is the same as a local phone book that nobody reads? Well done, Forrest.

I read it a couple times, and you sound like an idiot each time. I grew up around a family business, so I am aware of advertising a business. You have no clue as to what my experiences in life are. We know that you have a ridiculous website, full of spelling errors, and lifted pictures. If you don't care about the website, why even have it? Fail!

I think it's funny that you/anyone here cares if there was a typo on the site. Obviously,, I don't care about it, or I would have corrected it a long time ago. But it's touching that you have so much concern about this. I don't...

It shows a lack of pride in your business but then again if my website was so easily linked with my contributions on this board I wouldn't be wanting my customers to spend much time at the site either.

No-it shows a disreguard for a website I don't care about. My business was built long before it existed and does not rely on it at all. It was built on personal relationships with decorators, builders, paint/wallpaper store operators and clients developed over many years. There is no link between this board and I highly doubt that a single customer has ever spent a moment on this CSFMB site, besides Dan McNeil.

Thank you for admitting you are stupid. You don't care about a tool-- that you pay (or paid) for I might add-- that can add to your potential customer base.

You don't know if that will be true in the future though. It's your business though. If I were you, I'd be careful what I post knowing that google sees all.

Okay. Thanks so much for your sincere concern. I'll give it all the consideration I believe is warranted.

not to defend ES or anything but in that trade and trades like home building and landscaping, people don't rely on websites as much as they do BBB listings or D&B, Manta, etc. ratings and such.

websites are basically used to show off what they can do. in my business i see horribly maintained websites for highly successful companies and proprietors.
