Perhaps the 2 worst offenses in the National league in the month of june, face each other this weekend . Edwin (why did they sign him) Jackson faces off against Shawn Marcum in the opener of the series. Feldman and Garza will try to increase their trade value later in the series. It's a series that offers the Cubs a decent chance for sucess. But with Jackson on the mound tonight....even against an 0-7 Marcum, I don't feel too confident.

That was a stupid posting. In fact, I have not called into any show in a while. No-there is nothing interesting going on with the Cubs at this point to call about. When they get closer to the trade deadline, that will change. But right now Hockey is about all thats worth discussing on radio. Was that one of your required posts for the day? I hope they improve...In the future when visiting a thread, how about discussing the actual subject of the thread instead?

Back to the subject....Castro had a nice return to the #2 slot in the order yesterday, going 3 for 7 and scoring twice. He really struggled in the #7 spot going 2 for 28 in 8 games. I think it's safe to assume Sveum has him in the 2 slot again today.

The Cubs have a lead.

Edwin Jackson hasn't been awful.....yet

DeJesus ran into the wall and jacked himself up. Sweeney in the game for him now. Fuck it, call up B Jax and DL jesus with what must be a concussion??

Cubs win 6-3 while the Sux lose 2-1...good day!!

Edwin Jackson goes 6 innings and gets his second straight victory...still only 3-8 though.

Rizzo moved from 3rd in the order to 5th, but contributes 3 hits (3 for 4) and scores 2 runs in the win.
Shierholtz is moved into the 3 hole and contributes a solo homer in the game.

So you're one of "those" Cubs fans.

My advice is to worry about your division. And get a life.

I work with a few of these types. All I keep thinking is "why couldn't they have been Cardinal fans?"

Feldman with another quality start. His trade value has to be pretty fair at this point. I wouldn't mind seeing him stick around though, if they can't get a good pitching prospect in return. The Mets ballpark looks pretty nice. Might have to think about a trip to N.Y. to see it along with Yankee stadium next summer. Castillo, Barney and Ransom all with 2 hits and Rizzo drawing 3 walks today. Feldman with 2 RBI on his hit is now batting over .200. The Cubs pitchers have hit very well so far this year.

Cubs have now won the series with todays victory and will be looking for the sweep tomorrow! Kevin Gregg, now 9 for 9 in save situations. Not bad for a guy claimed off waivers.

I haven't heard what the DeJesus roster move is but dickface Kaplan was indicating it would be a bullpen arm and Sweeney would get the job in center.

There are a few options I wish they would consider instead of just letting guys get a billion minor league ab's. Szczur is already on the 40 man. He has done well in TN this year and if there wasn't a total bust 1st rd pick blocking him in AAA he would be there. Why not give him a shot for a few weeks. Also...Nasty Nate can play center so you could bring up Junior Lake who has absolutely raked since returning from the DL in AAA. Lake could play some brutal defense at 3rd as well if need be. These guys are on the 40 man. You can use them. Don't be scared.

Shawn "Rag Arm" Camp is back to "solidify" the bullpen. Lake has been raking and would like to see him up for sure.

Valbuena batting leadoff?? Well he got on i guess.

Cassie with a hit  He should be up over the .240 line at least.

The Mets just went all Cubs. Three balls thrown away on one play. Castro is lucky, because he stopped running as soon as Wright tossed to first, assuming the inning was over.

Put a tent around that circus....that was wild. Cubs up 3-0 now, looking good. But there goes Garza giving up a leadoff double. They need him to string together a few quality starts to get his trade value up.

After Wright just missed a HR to tie it, Garza did a nice job to escape trouble there.

Its going to be awful hard to finish this game off with no Gregg today.

Another nice inning after getting the leadoff man on by garza. I hope they close the book on him now. 107 through 7 great innings. Very efficient for the most part today.

Swaimer is going to fuck this up though because its what he does.

My guess would be Marmol or Rondon in the 9th, though I would like to see Russell pitch the 9th as well as the 8th.

And that's why I would have stayed with Russell. But fortunately the lead was 3 runs not 1. The big thing is for Marmol to not walk anyone.

Marmol had been pretty good of late, but I hate when he can't command his pitches. He seems to have much better control of his slider and has given up the 2 hits on fastballs.
