Everyone on the team has to hate him, how could they not? You spend 3 hours playing this game and then watch it go down the shitter in a matter of 5 minutes as he then strolls off the field as if nothing happened. Closers should be required to smash things in the dugout for a minimum of 10 minutes after blowing the lead.

Jed and Theo need to sacrifice him to appease the fan base. Most of the time I would think the fan base can just suck it but they are asking the fans to be awfully patient through this half decade re-build. If you can't give them prospect call-ups, a winning team or good trades you can at least give them this. I know it doesn't matter but I just want to see him gone. Now that a trade is never happening just pull the trigger.

Cubs manager Dale Sveum says his team has no intention of releasing struggling reliever Carlos Marmol and eating the rest of his $9.8MM salary, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports. "We've come to find out that he has trouble with the last three outs," says Sveum. "But somebody has to pitch the other innings, and he's done a pretty good job in that role."

What a joke.

Yeah it was announced prior to the game that he would be unavailable today. But Russell pitched great in the 8th, why didn't Sveum just let him close it out? Marmol has zero trade value and cannot be trusted, it's past time to release him.
