Yu's is my favorite Chinese place. I eat there at least once each week. Was the hot young blonde hostess there?

Where does a good dolphin go for his Chinese?

I used to be a regular at Mei Shung on Broadway south of Bryn Mawr, but the place stopped caring about the quality of its food a few years ago. Silver Seafood near Broadway/Lawrence is OK, but something is missing there. Any recommendations for North Side Chinese? It's difficult for me to get to Chinatown for dinner on weeknights.

Hi Howe set the standard. I know restaurant management is a grueling business but how do you lose that gold mine?

I don't really have a place for Chinese. I usually order from Mei Ma on Peterson and Pulaski but it's nothing special

What is the purpose of this request?

Are you concerned about the quality of the meat? Do you prefer your beef to have a shoe-leather quality to it? I'm intrigued.

The quality of the beef at a chinese restaurant is always suspect. It really isn't an issue if it is overcooked because it is in sauce and heavily spiced.

I like a certain amount of vomit and/or "Code Brown" risk in my Chinese food experiences.

It was above average...at best.

The Mongolian Beef didn't have enough of the sauce. The pieces of meat were nice and tender though...but lacked the sweetness / mild spicyness of standard Mongolian Beef. The white rice was white rice and the crab rangoon was good...but had a little too much cream cheese.

The worst part was the price...$20.50 or so. I understand it wasn't a lunch special...but damn.

Give Yu's 1 more chance, & order the Szechuan Chicken & Shrimp. The Fried Rice is also outstanding.
Trust me now & thank me later.
I know a few Asians who regard Yu's as the best Chinese food in the area. If you eat in you will notice that a high percentage of the customers are Asian.
Everything at Yu's is made fresh from scratch, & not the usual Chinese crap.
Speaking of crap, you wont get the green apple quick steps after eating at Yu's either!

Anyone who orders steak/beef well done should be disqualified from giving food reviews.

Anyone who considers Memphis a better or more important city than Chicago should be recognized as the simpleton that he is.

Find the post where I said Memphis was a more important city than Chicago. You won't be able to, because I never said that. You deceitful little sack of shit.

You really do need help with your reading comprehension. I included the "or" because I couldn't remember if you stated Memphis is a better, more important or both a better and more important city than Chicago.

So back to the point: Do you think Memphis is a better city than Chicago?

I don't have a problem with getting a burger well done, but a steak, like women, should be pink in the middle.

a steak should be black, like a woman's soul

The best northside place would probably be Dee's on Armitage in Lincoln Park. I know that's not the area you are talking about Midget.

As someone who seems like an old school, slap 'em on the ass man, I can't believe you order steak well done.

I cannot eat meat that is bloody. I usually order medium well cause I do like it pink but if I make that first cut and anything flows, I won't eat it.

I don't like the soft texture.

You might as well be eating a spoonful of semen squeezed after a meal of pineapple

Yup. I wouldn't drink a glass of cow blood. Why do I want it on my plate?

I agree. Need the burger well done, steak is done no more than medium rare.

I hope I don't need to explain the difference between Dijon mustard and the blood of a cow. If I do, I will instead just offer you a challenge of you drinking a cup of blood and I drink a cup of Dijon mustard if we are ever in the same room and if either person doesn't finish it they owe the other an agreed upon amount of money.

How about if we are ever in the same room I order a rare steak and finish it so you learn there's nothing to be afraid of?

People who order red meat well done are the same fools who put Ketchup on steak. Cooks & Chefs roll their eyes at people who order red meat well done. Medium rare is the only way to eat red meat, including Burgers.

Getting back on topic, I'll be at Yu's tomorrow. Cant wait.

Well, I wouldn't drink a cup of whatever the red stuff is that covers the bottom of the plate either.
