16 years old. My wife had him long before she took me in.

Had a hell of a run. Outlasted 3 of our dogs. His kidneys shut down at some point. Stopped eating a few days ago. My wife took him in today and he was down to under 5 pounds.

In the horrible coincidence department, my 9 year old superhawksfan daughter just started a week long camp program at the local humane society. Needless to say, she was devastated. She also said she never wants another cat, which shocked the hell out of me. She's never had the attitude after our dogs died.

Thoughts and prayers appreciated but monetary donations are preferred.

Sorry about your cat.

I have lost 2 dogs and 2 cats so far in my life...I dread the day the day when my now 2 year old cat has to be put down. If you are ever thinking about getting another cat, wait a while and ask your daughter how she feels about it...her reaction could just be a result of intense grief

Sorry for your loss Matt...My wife and I lost our dog, Dakota six months ago...It sucks. We didn't get to have her put down. I was the one who found her. My wife was in the hospital at the time.

We took all of Dakota's stuff and donated it to the Naperville Animal Shelter.

Guess I forgot that my avatar is a picture of me and Dakota.

Sorry to hear about the cat. Sounds like a pretty good run. I've had a number of cats over the years.
They are pretty good companions and they live seemingly forever. My ex-wife has my Siamese which
is the only one left. Always tough to put a pet friend to sleep.
