For those who may not know, I'm gettin hitched in November. We would like to have a slide show of pics on a DVD played at some point early at the reception. 1 song of my pics, 1 song of her pics, 1 song of us together.

I know it would be relatively simple to do this with Windows Moviemaker, but I'd rather have it look a little more 'professional' than that. Anybody here able to do this or can you recommend somebody or a company for us?

PM me and we can talk details and $
Thanx!

edit;
So I ended up doing this myself with windows movie maker, with somewhat mixed results. I can't figure out to resize a picture, but moving along...

Does anybody have a lead on a projector I might be able to rent/borrow? I can either play this show on a laptop (which we have) or I can burn to a DVD and play it that way. The hall has the screen and connections, I just need the projector and the hookups.

Thanks for the real responses and at least try to make the bullshit ones somewhat clever.

You can't even post pictures to the board, how could you possibly get them on a DVD with music?

I cannot wait to see the shock on your face when I appear in the "her pics" section.

You'll blend right in with the rest of the chubby pollacks in the pics.

I know, but nowhere did I say I would specifically do it myself.

Yeah, have a CSFMB bachelor party at Arnie's.

You'd be surprised what you can do with Moviemaker.

Anyway, I got a guy who could hook you up. It's Jerry's best friend Chad.

He was actually at a B51 & pA acoustic show at Gallery. The one when Jill was 6 months pregnant.
He's a professional graphic artist and does plenty of video stuff. He's actually doing the video work for the latest project as well.

So...I can put you in contact if you want.

3 songs of pics? I hope you leave the bar open during that.

May I suggest:

In a Gadda da Vidda - Iron Butterfly
Sweet Home Chicago - Stevie Ray Vaughn
Do You Feel Like I Do? - Peter Frampton

If I wasn't so lazy, I was going to super-impose you with Cubs gear into the 2003 post-Braves game crowd and Blackhawks gear in the 2010 Blackhawks cup parade with Go Cubs Go and Here Come the Hawks playing. It would have probably been funny.

No 'Harlem Shake' from the bachelor/bachelorette parties?

You could have someone do full length treatments with pics for all 3 tunes then cut it down to 90 seconds of highlights, 30 seconds per song. 10 seconds a song, 30 seconds overall would be optimal in terms of anyone paying attention all the way through.

Throw the full-length versions on facebook or somewhere for the terminally-bored/stalker-exes.

I am not sure why people respond to bumped old threads by spambots.

What are the chances one of the pictures included is the one of Frank after the World Series celebrating with 100 of his closest illegal immigrant friends?

Ive never really enjoyed a slideshow at a wedding. That is definitely time to get a drink or smoke.

Anything that stops a party at a wedding is bad.

cake cutting
slideshow
bouquet/garter toss
introductions
prayer

All bad.

Basically if its an activity that requires everyone to stop doing what they're doing, it's bad.

Play the slideshow during cocktail hour. People can watch if they want (lots of people do like this aspect of weddings) or just mingle.

100%

The slideshow will be played as soup or salad is brought out. I ended up making our together part with windows movie maker. It was pretty easy actually.

Just gotta scan 30 or 40 of our "kid" pictures and I'll probably do the other 2 songs myself too.

Agreed.

Although the bouquet garter thing usually happens after dancing has begun and there is no stopping the crowd at that point.

I like intros though.

Usually, the intros, cake cutting, and prayer are done as people are already at their tables and the bar is already closed for dinner. Yeah its kinda lame, but it happens so you line up a couple of drinks on your table to get thru dinner.
