Kyle Hendricks who was part of the Dempster deal is dealing in AA. 7-2 with a 2.07 era. Only 23 yrs old as well so he could be a guy to keep an eye on.

Dillon Maples on the other hand has been awful and has worse control than Marmol right now. I know he is young but damn....

"only"? That is probably about average progress for AA

Wait, do you not pay attention to the minors or are you an expert on minor leagues?

Wait, I pay attention to the majors and 24 isn't a young rookie. I'm sufficiently intelligent to extrapolate that if 24 isn't young for a rookie then 23 isn't young for its most direct feeding spot for hot prospects.

I say that only because he isn't too old. The first thing you probably think of when a player is with his 2nd team, you haven't really heard of him and he is having success is that he is probably a minor league salty vet in his late 20's. This cat is right on par.

I've been trying to figure out what the hell happened to Soler in the FSL all-star game since he left the game about as soon as it started and he hasn't played since. I am reading shin injury and he pulled himself from the field in the top of the 1st and he is on the DL now. Usually you think a foul ball off the leg and some nasty bruising. Men play through that. The thing is that he didn't get to the plate in the game and had a day off before it. If he is on the DL with fucking shin splints...............!!!!!!

Unless something crazy happened to him last night.......

He has been in AAA playing 3rd and OF for about 3 weeks after missing months for a rib or oblique injury. Hitting the crap out of the ball and stealing 7 or so bases which I didn't know was a skill for him. I'm waiting for him to get the call but who knows if that will happen until some trades go down.

I feel like they are trying to groom him to be kind of a poor man's Ben Zorbist. Super sub/utility type guy they can plug in at 4-5 positions.

I can't get any kind of read on what plans Jed and Theo have for some of the minor league guys that are ready enough to get the call. Lake and Szczur are both on the 40 man and could both be on this team right now. They seem content having the free agents they have picked up fill out the roster though. Maybe they are keeping them as trade bait where as if they brought them up and they sucked balls like jackson and vitters did they lose a great deal of value.

I think Szczur, Jackson, and Vitters will be involved in some trade this season. They will be throw in pieces with someone else to get a better prospect in return. They need to start making room on the 40-man for some other prospects.

I still am dead red on them trading a bunch of players for chase headley. He still hasn't resigned. The pads could use some Cali boys that are cheap like vitters, Jackson etc. the pads have a problem with drafting shitheads so some clean "prospects" might do them well

Lake tore the cover off the ball again for Iowa tonight. Jackson is going from bad to worse. Almora had another nice night. Baez drove in his 50th off his 15th hr of the season. He has really heated up but his 30 errors will make them think twice and then some about bumping him to TN. Daytona did reach the end of the 1st half which is usually the time some teams like to make their promotions.

All he needs is for Soriano to be traded. They won't call him up to platoon or be a pinch hitter and he sure as hell isn't playing center.

They are starting to stockpile these outfielders though at the higher levels between Szczur, Ha and Lake. I am not even including Jackson on the list because you can pretty much close the book on him at this point. If he is going to make it then its going to be somewhere other than with the Cubs.

Come August I want the OF to be.

RF Nasty Nate
CF Szczur
LF Lake

Lillibridge............is now property of the GLORIOUS New York Yankees. The Cubs shall be receiving cash or a PTBNL. Hopefully they take the cash and use to it pay off Marmol and send him far far away.

Jae Hoon Ha has been promoted to AAA fresh of an entire 1 game for AA after missing 6 weeks with some kind of injury.

I am assuming Jackson is hurt again...yes again and Vitters is still hurt again...yes again.

Hawkins is in his second year of professional baseball. Jackson meanwhile is in his 5th year and has done nothing except regress since playing a 1/4 season with the Cubs.

Not saying Hawkins will be anything special, but its pretty clear you can consider the great Brett Jackson a pretty big failure at this point.

Meh. Vitters is a big failure. Guys like Jackson burning out are dime a dozen.

Baez hit another HR last night. #17. He has been on a tear after starting quietly. Its probably time for him to get moved up to AAA but he will probably sit in High A until he can join the entire rest of the prospect list on the DL.

I am pretty sure that even though there was a massive house cleaning over the last few years the medical staff of Athletic Trainers and Strength Coaches stayed intact. You get a pass on Almora's hammate but not with Vitters twice, Jackson twice, Lake.....etc. The entire prospect list has been on the DL this year.

I feel bad for Sweeney. He really made the best out of the chance he was given.
That's a tough bat to replace.
