Not the title of Chris in Joliet's book about hanging out with spanky, but rather television adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name.

It's a 13 episode series on CBS that starts tonight.

Good book but the worst King ending ever and that is really saying something. Made the end of DT look brilliant.

It was literally like a Warner Bros. cartoon ending.

Not having a real desire to watch this. King's books always get bastardized by cinema.

How can someone be so consistently bad at finishing his books? Does he just get bored and say Fuck it?

Awesome book, but dumb ending.

I'll watch.

What else is on in the summer?

I'll DVR it and give it a chance when I can.

Loved 95% of the book, the last 5.... Uh.....well.....yeah. Who knows, maybe the screenwriters came up with a better finish. :D

Picked up for a second season.

CBS Renews Under the Dome, Stephen King to Write Season 2 Premiere
BY GRAEME MCMILLAN07.29.134:46 PM

Bad news for the citizens of Chester’s Mill: They’re not going to escape from Under the Dome any time soon. CBS has renewed the television adaptation of Stephen King’s novel about a small town trapped under a mysterious dome for a second season, and announced that King himself will write the season opener.

The news came at the start of the network’s presentation at the Television Critics Association this morning, where CBS CEO Les Moonves described the show was “the way television should be.” That’s a debatable point, but the show is certainly the way that most genre series would like to be; its ratings have grown for the last two weeks, and the show has been the most watched network broadcast on Monday evenings for the past four weeks.

Not bad for a show initially dismissed by King’s fans as not being faithful enough to the source material, something that King–himself an executive producer on the show, alongside Steven Spielberg and Brian K. Vaughan–ended up responding to online, teasing that the television show was engineered to last far longer than the novel.

“I’m not a huge fan of adaptations,” Vaughan told WIRED when the show debuted. “If you got something right the first time, it doesn’t need to be redone. But they wanted to do this not as a literal adaptation but as a launching pad for an ongoing series … I’m hopeful that lovers of Mr. King will be generous enough to see that we have not damaged the book. The book will always be there. But this is something new.”

Under the Dome’s first season airs on CBS Mondays at 10 p.m. through September 16. The second season is expected to start in summer 2014.

Good for them. It's a decent show for the summer, when pretty much everything blows on TV.

It's been real good.

It was just surprising that they're going longer after originally planning just one year.

Maybe it'll be better than the book ending.

That wouldnt be hard. The final scene would be better even if it was the realization that Barbie's shit makes the dome go away and the whole town has to rub his shit on the dome with their bare hands.

It always bothered me when Trashcan Man would call B&B and start the call with the trademark "Gentlemen, my life for you" and Dan would respond "And also with you".

IT ISN'T A FUCKING PRAYER BERNSTEIN!

That's when I should have known he was a pud.

the correct response from dan would have been "bumpdeebump." but i highly doubt dan even got the reference.
