Yep, Kane and Toews were awful when they played together in game 5 vs LA and Kane had a hat trick. Just awful. I can totally see why Q split them up for game 1 vs Boston and then didn't decide to put them back together again till last night when they went out and produced 3 goals.

Scorehead, you're an idiot, you should probably just shut up now.

Other than game 5 vs the Kings, Toews and Kane have been terrible. Unless you live in s cave, every Hockey analyst has been talking about this. Q was lauded for many of his line changes in both the Detroit and LA series.
You do realize that Q is the winningist active head coach in the NHL, right? If he wins another cup with the Hawks, he will go down in history as the greatest had coach on Hawks history.
Maybe you were an Alpo or Bob fan?
I won't call you names because mature adults don't do that.

You think its a coincidence that the Hawks 2 best offensive games during the LA and Boston series have been when Toews and Kane have been together then? It was a bad move to split them up starting this series. Dont know how you and Q cant see that.

I didn't agree with splitting them up either, but I still strongly disagree with Shakes and his opinion that Q is a "retard" and a lousy coach who should be fired. That is just plain Hockey stupid.

I can't believe he waited until game 4 to go back to these lines. Still pissed off he waited so long. We got totally dominated for long stretches of each game, can't believe he basically pissed away two games being stubborn.

I can't stand Q. They win in spite of him. I am sick of seeing him get credit for line changes that work. How about all the lines changes that don't? If he were a baseball manager, he'd have a different batting order every day after a loss.

Then how can your power play be this bad for this long with all that skill?

Win or lose this series, he's the perfect coach for this club and one of the better, more established coaches in the game. He's just a fucking retard sometimes, as are most coaches.

He does good thing and bad things. Examples...

Good: Benched Leddy last night in pretty much a must win game

Bad: WHY WAIT TIL GAME 4 TO PLAY TOEWS AND KANE TOGETHER HOLY FUCKIN SHIT BALLS DUDE!@!*@!!!!!!!

As pissed as I am at Q, he's gotta be one of the top 6 or 7 coaches in the league, maybe higher depending upon who you ask.
Even if we (sorry Bernsie) win the Cup, he needs to let Kompon go and bring in someone with a fresh approach to the power play. LA did it, we need to as well.
Just chill with the line changes Joel. You've got a good thing going now, let's not screw it up.

Don't forget that the Hawks should be up 3-1 in this series if not for the blown call in game 3 that negated a Hawks goal that would have make the score 2-1 & we win in regulation.

All great coaches make bonehead moves & decisions from time to time. How about Popovich in the last 2 minutes of game 6? God that was awful...but he's still a great coach. How about Belichick going for it on 4th down on his own 28 yard line & coming up short, which allowed the Colts to come back & win the game? He's still a great coach. How about Belichick signing Tebow?

It's just stupid to rip on a head coach who has a long & established proven track record of success & winning games & championships. Q is the winningest active head coach in the NHL with 660 wins & 389 loses for a .629 winning percentage & 2 Stanley Cup championships. In his 16 seasons as an NHL head coach, Q has NEVER had a losing season...not one. He has 5 seasons with more than 100 points, & 13 seasons with more than 90 points.

But I guess Q sucks at being a head coach in the NHL...

I don't know, Dude, if you look at the original post, it brings up a lot of great points and issues the Hawks are still having this year. The post was made last year. Is it extreme to say he should be fired? Sure. However, if Toews is unable to finish this series and the Hawks lose, I'll never forgive Q for fucking up the lines during the first three games and handing them two games

Doesn't change anything. He's still terrible and this team won despite him. Would've been a sweep if the idiot coach kept Kane-Toews-Bickell together after that horrible game 5 vs LA when Kane only scored a hat trick.

Even all the national announcers are ripping him for that move.

Throw in a PP so inept they just went an entire series without a PP goal and the case against Q is quite strong.

2 championships in the last few years. No way is it time for him to go anywhere.

Although it is amazing that an assistant coach that is so bad at leading the PP has been on the last 2 Cup winners.

I don't know if this is the time to try to defend the Hawks PP. Unimpressive at best.

Ain't defending. But saying they went an entire series without a PP goal is inaccurate.

Not saying he should be fired but he's not above criticism for his moves at the beginning of this series. Doesn't take a genius to see that splitting up Kane Toews Bickell was the wrong thing to do. That could've cost them the series. Luckily he got his head out of his ass and made the right move.

Looking at the makeup of the Hawks & the young talent on this team, it is quite possible that Q wins 1 or 2 more championships with this team. He's already on the Chicago Mount Rushmore of head coaches, along with Phil Jackson, George Halas, Mike Ditka,& I suppose Ozzie Guillen.

Can you create one of these for Trestman? It would be cool to see the Bears win a title.

thanks for winning us a Cup with the most stacked roster of the post lockout era, but the time has come for you to leave.

For 2 years the PP has been attrocious despite having arguably teh best top end talent in the entire league. That's all on the coaching staff. Same goes for the coma enducing PK.

Fact is Q has more talent ot work with than any team in the league. People rip on the bottom six and say we need one more top center or one more defenseman, but you know what, every team in this league has weak spots. That's what happens in the salary cap era. There's no reason a team with this type of top end talent shouldn't be able to contend for a cup, I don't give a shit who is on the 3rd line.

And that's another thing...Q is obsessed with having a good scoring 3rd line since we had one during our Cup run. But, that team was a fluke in the salary cap era. Yet, Q insists on spreading his talent thin over 3 lines rather than trying to have 2 great lines.

Enough is enough, its time for Q to go.

The team seems to like Q which is another good reason to fire him...send a message to the team, let them know that its their fault their beloved coach got fired, hopefully that will give them a kick in the ass.
