Rene Rancourt is only marginally more alive than the decrepit military vets the 'Hawks were using as jingoistic props for game 5.

I realize Dans politics are so messed up that he can't decide if he's Rachael Maddow or Gordon Gekko but hopefully that tweet gets attention from lots of people from across the political spectrum.

Yes Dan that evil USO works with the Blackhawks on multiple events to honor military veterans with cool experiences.

Here's hoping a great grandson of one of these decrepit WWII veterans says hello to Dan Bernstein at a Who Needs 2 Tavern Tour.

Will this get the Score King fired - NO, but here's hoping it makes him squirm in his booster chair.

Dan has been very consistent with his liberal anti-military / jingoistic Americans for a long time. I don't understand it but it is deep seated.

So, when if they bring out a sick kid or mentally handicapped individual for some kind of Make a Wish type of experience, are they props as well?

How about kids dying with cancer? Are they props?

At what point do his "tweets" get the attention of CBS management? I'm not talking about Mitch - it is obvious he has no control over Danny.

I know its not your argument but the size of the audience isn't determinative.

Every little honorary moment in life is a prop. You sit through those shitty village board meetings. Do you think those alderman give a personal rat's rear end about boy scout troops and bake sale winners? Why do they do it? Because it is nice for the person receiving their little bit of recognition in life. It also has benefits for the giver but it has much more significance for the receiver.

I actually agree with Dan on this one. It was sad seeing two REALLY old men out there on Saturday night. I was actually afraid one of them might get hurt. Honor the military but at least do it with people who can actually stand and know where they are at...

The old and maimed are the ones most needing the recognition.

Bernsie also always lets you know his kid would never be in the military even if he wanted to. It is below him. It is for minorities, rednecks, poor people and on and on. Just like people that choose to box.

Although you are being extreme, he has a point with which A LOT of parents would agree. I'm not quite as extreme agains the military but I'm not sacrificing my child for someone else's stupidity.

Its all in the presentation

Boxing and Military have traditionally attracted low income types of people.

Boxing and Military is for poors and minorities.

Can you imagine being raised and taught by Dan Bernstein? That kid can't help but grow up to be a major douche.

The question is, are you a fan of watching the Anthem live or are you some poseur who only likes National Anthem TV shows?

And the most deserving. Nowadays it seems that merely enlisting earns one the honor of being called a "hero".

I think it's a little different, but I get your point.

I don't begrudge Mac for his Autism Awareness or Dan for the One Step Camp...I do think it's a little hypocritical to tweet stuff about jingoistic America...or whatever that was, but I'm not sure exactly why, nor do I really care that much.

If he raises $100k a year for Cancer Kids, then I'll take the 4 hours a year that I type about crap he does.

I don't care what anyone does with their kids and decisions. The tweet though and denigration of people that choose the military really irks me.

What a piece of crap.

Dan was able to live a charmed life because of what these guys did. My dad volunteered at 17 for WWII and went down in a B-29 off of Guam. Half the crew died on impact and 3 more died in the resulting fuel fire. My dad heard their screams but was unable to do anything. Floated for 6 hours until rescued. Never got over the guilt of not being able to help.

Probably a good thing I don't do remotes because I'd end up head-butting that weasel and would probably strain my neck reaching down to Mr. Five-Eight-And-A-Half.

I think its probably safe to say we all agree that insulting injured veterans is generally not a good thing.

So, anyway, what were they doing there? Was is Veteran's Day or something? An anniversary of something?

Does it really matter? I mean, really?

Is having some veterans come out and salute whilst someone sings the anthem a huge deal deserving of some moron's constant vitriol? Where they bound, gagged and dragged out there against their will? I would say no. Maybe they were Blackhawks/Bruins fans? Maybe. Who knows. Maybe the superstar wannabe serious story breaking, life changing journalist that mans the mic from 1-6pm would know, right? Wait, he didn't bother to ask any actual questions, either.

I dunno. If you're going to "help" the poor veterans, do so in a meaningful way and don't put on a dog and pony show.

Like I said before though, no excuse for insulting those guys like shorty did.

Maybe they asked them if they wanted to do this and they all replied "Yes." Did that ever occur to anyone? I'm pretty sure they don't have guns jammed in their backs as they are walking out on the ice.

Why do you assume that the two are mutually exclusive?
