There ya go. Reality is at its most real when experience is privatized in accordance with the values of the professional-managerial elite and neoliberal orthodoxy.

Fuck collective identity.

Cheering with other fans in a group, having fun and enjoying the moment is lower-class fodder. Don't be dragged down into the pit of the despair and ignorance that is those below the poverty line. How are you supposed to sneer and be glad that you aren't "like them" if your hugging and high fiving people at a game or a victory parade?

Man, I'm glad BernSTINE wasn't around when the Victory in Europe/Japan parades were going on back in the 1940's.

Gwendolyn Brooks reference from Leery. I only went to DePaul, Dan, but I'm still educated!

He's got to step back every one in a while and think to himself, "holy shit what am I even talking about." Professional sports is about as communal as anything gets these days. You watch them packed in a stadium with 20,000-75,000 other people, or on TV in a bar or with friends, even if you're alone at home you likely go on Twitter and see what others are saying. You pay for the stadiums with your tax dollars and the team plays in the town in which you fucking live with 3 million other people! Seriously. What. The. Fuck.

15 minutes in and we get the first Bernstein story about his son last night, eh. Going to be a long afternoon of hockey talk, family stories, and how you should act when celebrating. Hopefully he can retweet another bad Tim Baffoe article, 2 in 2 days.

Bernstein's kid sounds like an even bigger killjoy than his father is.

Terrible tranny.

BernSTINE just can't wait to tell everyone how to feel, what to do, why you're wrong and all that shit. He even threw in some orders and directions on how to parent your child when it comes to taking pictures and video of them.

Rough water ahead, fellas. Tread carefully.

One of the greatest experiences of my life as a sports fan was attending the A.J. Pierzynski "dropped" third strike game during the 2005 ALCS. When the Sox snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, the whole stadium erupted. People were high-fiving and hugging in the stands. It was a moment of unadulterated joy on a massive scale. No moment of private contemplation could ever equal that.

What the fuck is this?

"Enjoy the journey"
"Savor the moment"
"Don't miss the sunset..."
"Mental heavy lifting..."
"Enjoy it on your terms..."

And after you do all this it may mean more to you.

And a fucking terrible, overwrought, dumb, terrible email from Bill on Capitol Douche. Laurence is going after him! "HE'S WRONG."

My god....I was actually *GASP* going to listen to the show today to have fun in a communal way with my fellow brethren....but I dunno. 5 minutes in and it's 12 cable turds in a punch bowl filled with menstrual fluid.

Why does Bernstein equate shared experience with dull experience? His statements conflict with most people's experiences.

In fairness, he's totally right about that. People are fucking ridiculous with the holding phones/cameras up bullshit. Know who goes back and watches some shitty recital? No one, that's who.

I much prefer the days when I thoroughly enjoy Tall Midget posts.

I'd like to think the feeling is mutual, but I have serious doubts that I've been able to provide my end of the equation ...

Can you imagine the life long psychological baggage his father is burdening him with during these teaching moments?

Dan trying to ascribe some profound, philosophical importance to the proper way to enjoy sports is exhausting to listen to. I get the feeling that even Lap Dog Laurence is trying not to roll his eyes.

I'm still not entirely sure if this is really Dan or just calculated shtick. Same for the massively douche-y tweets. They're so over-the-top he has to be trolling, right?

Christ. The Penn State talk alone could ruin a developing mind.

When I was 11 my Dad taught me how to use a pipe threader. I had to learn how to savor a sports championship with dignity on the streets.

Alright.

Now the callers are screened in to agree. Some things never change.

Why the over-thinking of this? Well, I guess that's rhetorical. It's a way to separate himself from the slobbering masses of mouth breathers that didn't attend Duke, don't have a super-genius son and all that crap. His house must be surrounded by 30 ft tall walls and constructed out of ivory.

He knows nothing about hockey or sports in general so he wants to put it through some sort of psychological gobbledygook prism to sound profound, deep and intelligent. Like he's really delving into society's structure, it's soul, it's core...and explaining it to us idiots in ways we can understand. Because we just don't know anything and need to be instructed.

Well, this was a short lived reentry back into 1-6pm on THE SCORE.

I think I may light my pee pee on fire and listen to Waddle and Silvy.
