This is simply too challenging for a first year coach with zero experience.

I was listening to J Hood tonight and he said the Bulls should trade Deng for somebody who can score. He said Deng will likely walk after next year, so they should get something for him now. As much as I like Deng I don't think I can really argue. If the Bulls can't trade Boozer or Noah, Deng is the only guy anyone might trade for.

Good move for the Knicks if they can find a place to play him. Money doesn't matter their so his salary isn't an issue.

That's a great deal for the Knicks.

Play him at the 3 or 4.

I'm not sure it makes the Knicks much better, if at all. I guess he could come off the bench and maybe give them something. They would be insane to mess with Melo/Chandler starting at the 4/5.

Novak is just a guy.

Maybe my Raptor love is blinding me, but I really like Bargnani.

Melo is a 3 no?

Felton
Shumpert
Melo
Bargnani
Chandler

That's not bad.

Melo started at the 4 for most of last season and the results were much better than when he played the 3.

I guess Melo is a 4.

If Shumpert can play the 2, stick Bargnani at the 3.

Otherwise he's a sixth man.

Still better than Steve Novak imo.

Very far.

He's listed as Melo's backup on the Knicks depth chart.

You're right. We'd be remiss to forget to mention that Amare is so worthless these days that NY felt the need to trade for Andrea Bargnani.

KS Novak can be deadly from behind the arch but there are long stretches during the season where he isn't a factor. This is a total upgrade. Salary doesn't matter in NY.

What does Bargnani do well?

I think Bargnani has a better offensive game than does Novak. Plus I think playing in Toronto has had a negative effect.

When healthy he's a better scorer. He won't be asked to do a lot in NY. The expectations will be different.

All I'm saying really, is that I'd rather have a specialist in Novak for 1/3 the price of whatever upside Bargnani has left.

The Knicks could've wasted their money much more efficiently.

And now with Novak AND JR Smith gone, Bargnani will probably be green lighted to heave up 3's at an alarming rate, and what is even more alarming is that he shoots them at about a 30% clip the last few seasons......

......When he plays. Which is a whole 'nother matter. He'll fit right in with this team. He plays in about 50% of his team's games each year.

He also has a girls name and is goofy looking.

This has been the theme of the Knicks franchise since I have been alive.

Money never matters there because of their tv contract and stadium deal.

They still haven't learned how to use it correctly though.

Well, it's not technically over because the Knicks need to do a sign and trade to match money.

The Rockets, feeling confident that they will land Howard, have called several teams to inform them that guard Jeremy Lin and center Omer Asik are available, NBA sources reported.

I'm reading that Iguodala is meeting with Minny, Detroit, Atlanta, Sacramento, and Denver. He just played with Denver, so I understand that meeting, but I am disappointed that he's considering so many weak teams. I assume these teams are the only ones who are able to meet his contract demands, but from an admittedly selfish perspective (I'm a fan of his), I think it's really disappointing that a guy as good as Iguodala may be wasting the remaining years of his prime on a non-contending team.

The Portland Trail Blazers helped theHouston Rockets create enough cap room to offer Dwight Howard a massive contract as they've agreed to take on Thomas Robinson's contract in exchange for the rights to two European draft picks. There is a chance Omer Asik could be on the block if Howard signs with the Rockets and he might end up with the Blazers.

From Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com: "One source who is tuned-in with how things could develop tells CSNNW.com that the Trail Blazers are in the Rockets' good graces, which could have an influence on where they choose to ship Asik when it's time to do so. The center position is a dire need for Portland, being that they were one of the worst defensive teams in the league."

Portland should have enough salary cap room to accept Robinson and Asik, but if they don't a possible sign-and-trade with J.J. Hickson might get a deal done. Haynes points out that both Hickson and Asik are represented by agent Andy Miller.

Asik is on the books at $8.37 million the next two years, although his actual pay is $5.2 million in 2013-14 and $14.9 million in 2014-15.

This makes no sense. Asik is a great defender on a poor defensive team. Trading him for JJ Hickson will make the Rockets even worse defensively. Hickson is pretty much on par with Carlos Boozer defensively.
