Levine said it might be SS Luis Cruz who comes back.

Cruz was decent last year in the bigs. He was batting in the Dunn zone this year though.

The reason Bruce guessed him was because he was recently DFA'd too.

Still no word on this Marmol deal being finalized but in unfortunate news............Stevie Ballgame is going to be traded today to a mystery team. Probably the fucking Sox because their catcher blows from what I see Sox fans post about him.

I've tried to read up on this idea of trading for International cap space but it's pretty crazy. Trading players so you can add room to sign a 16 yr old Dominican or Venezuelan. How on earth do you set a price on something like that?? Talk about the ultimate lottery ticket. A team could end up with a star or they could give up a player and spend a bunch of money on someone who doesn't make it out of the DSL.

Hell yes Drop In!!! We do indeed have action. I need to read up on these guys but going into the season Feldman and Stevie Ballgame didn't sound like they would net anything.

Hank Scorpio is going to be devastated by the Clevenger news.

It sounds like the key is getting enough money back to sign the top foreign child. Theo Jolie at work again.

Eloy JimenezRank: 1Santo Domingo, Dominican RepublicHeight: 6'4", Weight: 198Position: OFDOB: 11/27/1996Bats: R, Throws: RScouting Grades* (present/future): Hit: 3/5 | Power: 4/6 | Run: 6/6 | Arm: 5/6 | Field: 5/5
Considered the crown jewel of the Class of 2013, Jimenez has one of the best baseball bodies available this year and is considered to be the total package. The teenager has impressed scouts with his intelligence, plus-speed, and gap-to-gap power that is expected to improve as he grows into his body.

Jimenez is also an advanced hitter with quick hands and is expected to hit for average. He projects as a corner outfielder, likely right field, because of his arm strength and athletic ability. Some believe he might lack in baseball instincts and has an average to above-average arm, but most agree Jimenez will improve once he is placed into a team's academy. Like many his age, Jimenez sometimes struggles with offspeed pitches. He runs the bases well and has the potential to be a base stealer in the future.

Jimenez played in the RBI program in the Dominican Republic and for the International Prospect League (IPL), but he could still use more in-game experience. Scouts love his raw power yet are also impressed with his makeup and strong family background. Roberto Clemente is one of Jimenez's baseball heroes.

So from what I gather Strop used to be a very good bullpen arm but has sucked this year and Arrieta has been bad as a starter but has potential.

Getting enough money to sign Geybar and Jimenez would be very impressive.

Rusin is in the rotation now (at least for tonight) We shall see what happens with Arietta joining the rotation or pen. I would like to see Rusin get a shot before replacing him. He has been pretty good in Iowa this year and has 7 big league starts under his belt from last year.

Hopefully this is Camp's last day on the roster as well. If the 2 new guys are going to be bullpen arms then send him on his way.

#Dodgers send Matt Guerrier to #Cubs in exchange for Carlos Marmol, cash considerations and $209,700 in international bonus money. Cubs to pay nearly $2m of Marmol salary. And Dodgers get $209 thousand in intl slot.

Cubs trade second base prospect Ronald Torreyes to Astros for almost $800K in int'l pool money.

#Cubs get an additional $380K to spend in intl’ market as part of Feldman deal with #Orioles.

A net gain of $970,300 international dollars. Pending a blood test, whatever.

Sean Marshall has turned into Travis Wood, 800k in international money, and Dave Sappelt. If Dave Sappelt is lit on fire during this major league run, this is a huge win.

Literally set afire. That makes it a win!!

What is with the astros and midgets?? Torreyes was doing pretty well but he is too damn short to be taken seriously. Hopefully this open spot in AA is filled by Baez who has been beating down the door to get there lately. Did I mention that he never gets to play in Daytona because it fucking rains every day.

That's what I meant. There's no chance he will figuratively be on fire, so I'm going for the literal version.

Guerrier hasn't been that bad this year. The Cubs bullpen has gotten so much better...mainly because it was so damn bad. Get 3 solid weeks out of him and flip him for a prospect.

In unfortunate news it has been confirmed that willie mays hayes sappelt has been recalled. I can't wait to watch him strike out every single at bat while swinging for the fences.

Now that everyone sees what the Cubs are up to as far as trying to get Jimenez will they be able to actually get him before someone else does? The Dodgers I would expect to be all over that shit but I doubt the Cubs would have included 200k in slot money in the Marmol deal if they thought the Dodgers would take him.

Good find. That was a great article.

The Cubs now have far and away the most international signing money and should be able to get Jiminez with little problem.

I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright and when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice, but still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.

Today is bittersweet. The trading of Marmol resuscitated the chances of my preseason prediction of Wild Card glory for the beloved Cubbies.

Then Theo goes ahead and trades Feldman for a nice package. Bummer.

I don't like any of the moves they made besides dumping Marmol. Should have gotten more for Feldman.

I disagree. Team are trading for 1/2 year of a 4th/5th starter. If shoe was on the other foot I wouldn't expect the Cubs to give up anything either.

I feel prospects have become insanely overvalued. Teams have become irrational and are guarding them with their life. Nothing good was going to come the Cubs way.
