So in your opinion, which of these young guys will be in the lineup and making a strong contribute opening day 2015?

It might be a year later than that. That's how bad it was in October, 2011.

See Blackhawks replacing Dale Tallon with a more disciplined Stan Bowman.

I go hard on Tallon, but to compare him with the Royals' baseball-ops bumblefuck isn't fair. Yes, he whiffed hard on picks in the top 14, and yes, he was woefully unsuited to managing the salary cap, but he laid some very good groundwork.

Also, with what fucking money are the Cubs going to start a thoroughly redundant RSN, at a time when cable television as we know it is on the precipice of changing forever?

I could have told you that would be the case in 2011. That's my point.

OK, that's a fair point. I do give Tallon a lot of credit for laying the ground level foundation.

Not a Cubs fan (yes Dan, I realize it doesn't matter) but I was excited about Epstein coming to Chicago. After listening to Berns suck him off on the air, I'm hoping this regime fails miserably. Actually Danny has me now hoping to see UCLA in the Final 4 and Penn State in the National Championship game in football just so his little head explodes.

Isotopes are now a Marlins product. Dodgers dumped the team and took the name "Dukes" with them iirc.

The blame will be laid squarely on the rooftop opposition, if only they (and the rest of the neighborhood) understood their proper roles in being compliant.

Super-educated Cub fan emailer can appreciate how absurd all other Cub fans are because he is smart enough to understand that the Red Sox won their first title BECAUSE they did just these type of development moves.

All that homegrown talent like Schilling, Pedro, Ortiz, Ramirez, Damon....

I was just thinking the other day about the parallels between the 2004/2007 Red Sox and 2010/2013 Blackhawks. The first time, you had the euphoria of finally getting it done, having done it with a patchwork of players from various GMs and trades and so forth. Then much like the 2007 championship was decidedly Theo's, the 2013 Cup was decidedly Bowman's, with a deep development system established, tons of homegrown talent, so forth. Light on the fairy tales, just a good team, built well.

Nah it was clear, they just don't have an answer. They have an opinion but nothing to back it up.

They basically think that they see a cash cow in a tv station and they will find the money when needed. Not sure how that can happen, but I hope it does.

Well I hope it does too, but it sure is a delicate money balance that I would want no part of. If daddy's money comes through then great, if not this ownership may be gone in the long term.
