I hold a 51% interest in the CSFMBWA World Tag Team Championship Titles. If you want, I'll pull the beer stained charter member card out of my pants. I'm really good with contracts, and my tag team partner knows this fact. So I say this right now. No! No! No!

Sting owes his entire career to Ric Flair.

If Flair doesn't sell for him like a champ, Sting would've been another Flyin' Brian/Tom Zenk.

Don't even think about talking to me before the match if I have my headphones on. I'm listening to Papa Roach and getting into beast mode.

Who's the guy on the right supposed to be?

The Wyatt Family is already more over than half the roster.

I was wondering that as well. I think he's just standing there. I respect the dedication to not wearing pants.

I know we have some AWA fans here. I'm watching an AS Wrestling show from 9/26/81. It was taped in Chicago. The fan favorite is billed passionately from Chicago. His name is Julio Rodriguez. Booed heavily. He's facing Adnan Al-Kaissiey. Iran #1! The crowd eventually is going, but I love seeing stuff like this when people talk about the glory days.

We now get the heel "Incredible" Hulk Hogan in a handicap match. Call my crazy, but I think this guy is going places. He has a Rob Terry thing about him.

Was Hogan ever a baby face in the AWA? Verne really dropped the ball on that one, although I'm not sure he was creative enough to do much w the Hulkster.

Ugh the production is worse than an independent show on cable access. Check out the ring announcer, certainly no Howard Finkle. And the guy doing the play by play... Yikes. Johnny V wasn't much of a mouthpiece either. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aISp5WzDFuU

Cool... I didn't start getting into wrestling until about '84 so I only knew him from his WWF days

If I remember correctly, the majority of his time spent in the AWA was as a face.

I thought he was a heel most of his AWA time.

Watching Raw from July 1997; the Mankind/Dude Love/Stone Cold was pure comedic genius. This Brakkus looks like he could be the next big thing.

Hogan was insanely over as a face in the AWA. Verne wanted too much of his money. I believe he was brought in as a heel, and quickly turned face.

The one article suggests that Verne was willing to put the belt on Hogan if Hogan married into the family. :?

Any truth to that?

I don't know if he had to marry Greg, but Verne wanted him to marry into the AWA. Someone placed an idea in Hogan's head about merch. Verne started doing shirts, etc. for many of the guys. He wanted the majority of Hogan's cut. After that, he went on a tour of Japan. Verne was going to put the strap on him prior to the tour. In exchange, he would take most of Hogan's earnings. Around the same time, Vince stepped in. History was made.

I'm watching 1-2-3 Kid v Bret Hart right now. Proof his greatness was in his head. Great wrestler, not close to that great. He didn't get the crowd into it until around 15.

Undertaker v Henry WM in Chicago. Sweet Stephanie. Watch the awfulness. I'm a real fan of Mark Henry now, but that's why he was the shits for over ten years. I could see at least eleven spots called from Taker.
