The Fuck Shark???????????????????????

Haven't you read this thread or been on twitter today?

I'm on Twitter, but I haven't been here...until now.

Quite frankly, I don't know what the Rockets are going to do with Dwight Howard coming. A year ago, those Omer Asik & Jeremy Lin contracts raised a lot of eyebrows. They don't look so good now.

FUCKING READ THE NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEN MAYBE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY PLAN ON DOING WITH THOSE TWO!!!!!!!

I don't think Asik wants to be on that team. It's too bad the Bulls couldn't get him back in a trade.

Omer at $8 mil per isn't so horrid, SHARK. Lin on the other hand........

The issue with Omer is the poison pill year in his contract.

ALRIGHT THEN!!! The Bulls supposedly wanted to keep Asik, but that third year would've screwed them financially for a long time. The poison pill. Ditto with Jeremy Lin when he left the Knicks.

What does any of that have to do with Howard?

I'll be as interested as everyone else to see what happens next with Dwight Howard on board, effective Wednesday when the NBA signing freeze expires.

Based on previous comments, it appears as if Omer Asik, we hardly knew ye in Houston? I am old enough to remember the original "Twin Towers" with Hakeem Olajuwon & Ralph Sampson back in the day.

The Bulls could have paid him, but they overpaid Noah first. So they couldn't afford to pay both of them.

Not to be confused with the three-headed monster of Longley, Wennington and Edwards.

Asik is still owed $15M in 2014-2015.

I know that the Bulls have agreed to a 2 year, $6 million deal with Mike Dunleavy, Jr., most recently with the Bucks.

I think these Bulls are closer to a salary dump than an NBA Championship and they have some tough decisions looming. If I'm GM Gar Forman, even if Coach Thibs thinks the world of him, I still look long & hard for a Luol Deng trade if it means getting out of the luxury tax this team is currently in.

Only counts as $8M against the cap.

Hoopshype has that wrong. It's $8mil per, spread evenly over the next two seasons.

Cap hit is $8M but he'll be paid $15M

That's too much money for a backup center.

As long as Joakim Noah is still here, Omer Asik still would've been a backup if he were still a Bull. Asik averaged about 10.5 PPG as a full time starter in Houston last year.

So with the NBA trades the money has to match for the particular season the trade is made? Does that mean the Bulls could dump someone with a longer contract for someone with an expiring contract and have money come off the books?

@MattMooreCBS: Rockets move to 10-1 to win the 2014 title, tied with Bulls, Clippers behind Heat, Thunder.

Other than the absolute steal that the Rockets got Harden for with the OKC deal, I don't know that there have been any amazing deals the Bulls could have gotten in on. They would have to trade Deng or Noah and they haven't been wanting to do that.

They didn't have the pieces to make the Harden deal.

You don't think if the Bulls gave them the Charlotte pick that might change their mind?

Josh Smith has agreed to a four year, $56 million deal with the Detroit Pistons, league sources tell Y! Sports

Cuban can't be this dumb can he?

Quote:
After moving on from Dwight Howard's decision to head to Houston, the Dallas Mavericks have started to seriously pursue Andrew Bynum, sources have said.

The Mavs will proceed with caution due to the knee condition that caused the 7-foot, 285-pound Bynum to miss all of his lone season with the Philadelphia 76ers, the sources said.

The evaluation process of the 25-year-old Bynum's problematic knees will be "exhaustive," according to the sources.

The Mavs consider their medical staff, headlined by Team USA athletic trainer Casey Smith and Dr. T.O. Souryal, to be the best in the league. The medical staff, which played a significant role in getting Tyson Chandler s career back on track after two injury-riddled seasons, could be a recruiting asset in the pursuit of Bynum.

Bynum, 25, is the one potential dominant force who is still available in free agency. He averaged 18.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks during his All-Star campaign for the Lakers in 2011-12.

The Mavs have approximately $10.5 million in cap space after agreeing to a four-year, $29 million deal with Jose Calderon.

With no further financial tinkering, they could offer Bynum up to a four-year, $45 million deal. The Mavs could also minimize their risk with Bynum by insisting on language in the contract that would protect the team if the big man's bad knees were to keep him off the court.

If they really do an exhaustive process of examining his health then I highly doubt they get him. But it just shows Cuban is desperate to put pieces around Dirk for one more run at a title.
