Whomever gets moved to AAA will play SS there. There is no one at SS in Iowa. Vitters is perpetually hurt at this point, so Lake will continue to play at 3B most of the time. If/when Vitters is back, Lake will get promoted or move to RF full time.

I feel that Theo & Co. have lost confidence in both Vitters and Jackson. I wouldn't be surprised to see them moved at the deadline. Vitters especially. He has no position, and the one position they put him at has about 10 other better prospects that he is blocking.

Yea, Vitters has had a totally lost year and Jackson has sucked as well. I can definately see Vitters going bye bye soon.

What's the deal on Alcantara's glove at SS? I hear he's more of a 2B type??

23 errors so far this season. Don't know the scouting report on him, though. I think, given his size, the expectation is that he would be a 2B in the majors.

OK, so not a real good glove man. Can't have it all I guess.

He's still just 21. And, like I said, he's real small, so moving to 2B should certainly help his error total.

I think Jackson has the make-up to be useful to the Cubs as a fourth outfielder. I think Vitters has no value to the Cubs except as trade bait.

Yea he can play some defense and can run a little and he would be cheap, so maybe he sticks. Vitters could have been the RH platoon at 3B if he was healthy and was raking, so tough break for him.

Minor league injuries are the only thing more vague than hockey injuries. No one has any idea what is wrong with vitters.....again

Maybe they don't want to rush him and let him build confidence at AA. He's had a nice year so why take the chance he struggles at AAA?

Remeber he hasn't played baseball full time for long.

Maybe so...

I just wish Jed and Theo would promote these guys a little bit sooner. They are hanging quite a few out to dry unless they have some master plan trade in the works.

I wonder how long they are going to keep Kyle Hendricks in AA. He is 8-2 with a 2.06. All his splits look good, whip is good. I like promoting position players to the bigs from AAA but pitchers from AA. If they struggle at the big league level then you can send them to AAA.

Let's get past the trade deadline this year and see what he does.

Scott Baker pitched a 2nd simulated game last weekend at the complex in AZ. He should have probably pitched another one or gotten in a game down there this week but I can't find an update. CBS sports had him returning in late August but if he is ready for a rehab assignment I can't see how it would take him 2 months to get back.

Hopefully he can still get 10 starts in once the deadline passes. Blowing 5 mil for him to rehab would be pretty frustrating. Hopefully he would pay the Cubs back by returning next year on a 1 mil deal with incentives.

Almora has either gotten hurt or promoted. He was removed from the game today after 2 ab's. I assume he is hurt because the Cubs do no promote unless they have to. God dammit.

I decided to go through the 2011 Draft. We know how Baez is doing.

Check out Vogelbach's 3 season total. It equals to about one full season in rookie and A ball.

Zeke DeVoss has a nice OBP, but it looks like he's a little rough around the edges.

Tony Zych. Meh.

He's having a decent season but that's quite a drop from his rookie league numbers. I think his numbers will continue to drop unless he loses some serious poundage. Dudes a beast and not in a good way.

Excuse me. He's pleasantly plump.

Arrieta is pitching tonight for the I-Cubs. 2 k's in the first but 20 pitches is pushing it.

So much for that. 2 runs in the 2nd and already at 53 pitches. He might be ok once someone gives him the pitch to get outs not to strike out 20 and have a pitch count of 100 by the 4th speech.
