1. Mac blasts the Bernstein's clones on the air. Calls them "yes men". Writes here about Bernstein's overwhelming influence on everybody at the station Larry was certainly the target amongst others.

2. Mac writes here that he doubts he'll be back after his contract is up in a year.

Possible Conclusion: Mac sees the writing on the wall. His kind is no longer welcomed at the Score. Mitch and Zim want Bernstein Clones. They want 24/7 "Fuck You" radio even if it's done by hacks and no-talents (Zim thinks he can get the hacks on the cheap). They want a condescending, arrogant tone from all on air personalities. Mac probably senses that Larry is gonna replace him. That "Yes Men" comment was a way of saying, "This sucks that I'm probably gone for Larry." I think it offends Mac's broadcasting sensibilities that his replacement will just be a copy cat, lessor version of Bernstein. "BE YOURSELF" was the way Mac was brought up in broadcasting. Now the motto at the Score is "BE BERNSTEIN".

Many here have predicted that Mac would eventually regain his afternoon drive-time hosting gig. Those prognostications are correct. But he won't do so at the Score.

Mac pretty much lays out his plans in the above quote. He wants a drive-time gig and probably has already received an informal offer for one. The talk about taking a non-radio job is just subterfuge. Mac has no marketable skills and no earning power outside the domain of sports talk radio. He has made similarly ludicrous statements in the past before coming to a realistic understanding of his career options.

Well, given that Mac is already dropping major hints about his next move, I don't think he's doing anything quietly.

But I agree that he's likely headed to WGN.

The recent expansion of Kaplan's evening sports talk show is interesting, especially since Darlas and Noonan were eliminated as co-hosts. Neither one has the first clue about sports and were only there to attract a "general interest" audience during low points in the sports calendar. Additionally, my understanding is that the station has begun cutting its newsroom staff, and rumors are surfacing that long-time hosts like Nick DiGilio believe their days at the station are numbered. Lots of things are pointing towards a major format shift at WGN, and Mac may once again find himself at the center of a radically redefined Chicago sports talk landscape.

Do you really think WGN would have Mac as their afternoon host? That's an "older" audience and I'm not sure Mac pushing the boundries of good taste would go over real well with a high brow audience. He would have to tone down his masterbation/porn, bathroom and recreational drug use talk and I'm not sure if he's willing to do that at this point in his career. This would be like Howard going to WNBC. It would be an entertaining disaster.

Well, that's part of the problem at WGN--demographics. It needs to change its format to attract an audience that advertisers are trying to reach--namely, men aged 25-54.

A few months ago Mac posted that Terry resigned with the Score. So that's gotta be a 2 or 3 year deal.

Larry wants to be Bernstein's partner. We all know that. He's been sucking off Bernstein for years hoping Terry will die or retire. Larry knows Bernstein will carry him so he can be his usual horrible self as long as he sucks Bernstein's cock as a partner. Larry is more than willing to do that.

That's not available right now. With Mac saying he's likely gone in a year, Zim will pair him with Spiegel.

1. Mitch loves Larry for some reason. Maybe Larry sucks off Mitch like he does Bernstein. We don't know about it cuz this is done off the air.

2. If Mac is getting 300k, Zim figures he'll get Larry for 150k. Mitch will go to bat for Larry. Zim will agree cuz he'll be thinking about the savings. Larry has no leverage. Zim will say, "Take it or leave it, Larry. If you leave it, I'll get fuckin' drinky to do it for 70k for a year and figure out who replaces his dumb ass later." Of course you take it if you're Larry.

If it is Larry and Spiegel, that will be the biggest "Vagina Show" in the history of two males paired to do a sports radio show. Two sensitive bitches with the personalities/behavior of like high school girls.

The Score bills about 25 million a year. Mac knows exactly what his show is worth to that pie. He's gonna give Zim a price. At this point in his life/career, Mac can give the "Take it or leave it" ultimatum. Mac knows Zim. He knows Zim will leave it in favor of the cheaper Larry. That's why Mac is predicting his Score death in a year. When Zim says "No" he'll take the same WGN money that Zim was willing to give him. I think Mac would rather take that offer else where and see if the WGN PD will pony up on the 2nd contract if he produces.

Why do you think that Spiegel will get a new contract? Even Mac doesn't like him anymore.

An afternoon show with Mac on 'GN makes perfect sense. Gives the new target demo a solid option either post-Cubs day games or pre-Cubs/Hawks night games. If the Cubs shift Friday day games to 3:05, then Mac gets an additional 13 Fridays off per year.

You guys are all high. Mac is on middays. He's not going on afternoon drive anywhere. WGN wouldn't want that lazy, crybaby tumor on its staff.

Mitch says I could put someone on there at 1/3 Mac's salary easy and get the same numbers. You clods listen to the Fatpants shitshow every day.

Mac is too lazy to write, and too limited for sattelite. If he doesn't take another recession contract, he can go work in Milwaukee or some other cow town.
