How long is too long to wait on hold with your hot sports takes?

I've personally called in maybe a dozen times (only gotten through a few). If I had to wait on hold through a commercial slash update, I hung up. Can't imagine the payoff of waiting nearly 2 hours to talk on the radio is worth it.

In Jason Goff's well-established Land Of Things That Can't Happen, he only takes calls at 5:62. You're going to be on hold for a while.

Of course it's worth it. You get to actually speak with Jason Goff, or, barring that, breathe nervously into the phone and simply bask in his gentle decency.

I don't really care either way. Why someone feels a need to call in and espouse their viewpoint is beyond me in the first place, so I don't feel I could comment on how long they should wait to do so. Email or text and be done with it, although you'll never build up a brand like Steve from Elmhurst does. That gets him an occasional drink every two or three years.

the truth is people call and leave the phone off the hook. goff doesnt want to hang up on them because he would only have 3 callers left.

The way that station is crashing and burning, Goff better not bite those few hands that remain.

Being hostile towards your callers and mocking them is OK, I guess, when you have an established brand that you can piss away. Goff doesn't have that, maybe he should be more careful as he could have ZERO callers to mock.

When that station goes under, you just know Goff is gonna be on his knees begging Dear Leader for his job back. The problem is the guy who replaced him is about 10 times better than he was. He better hope 1000 is in the market for a Bernsie disciple.

Actually in this thread, 100% of my posts are about Goff.

Of my total posts on this board, probably 5% are about producers, so not sure where you're getting that 80-90%.

Radio guys telling everyone, through whatever avenues, about how long callers are willing to wait to give their pointless opinions is nothing new. Goff isn't doing anything wrong or even being slightly rude. He'll be fine, at whatever station and with whatever he's doing.

Goff is alright by me. I wouldn't take the "disdain for callers" approach to my job, but fuck it, it's his career. You would think more of these producers/new generation would've learned more from what J Hood has done.

Kid, I had a conversation with the Ex Gf about something similar...she wanted to know why a certain singer wasn't popular because she could "sing" better than say a Beyonce or a Rihanna....and I had to break it down to her that it's like a basketball player who can "shoot" really good, but isn't a superstar. The singer may be able to sing her head off, but doesn't have the personality or ability or mental makeup of the others which makes a difference.....

I wish I could take the "talents" of a few of my exes and make the best woman ever.
