Sappelt is starting tonight. What the hell is wrong with Nasty Nate? There is no reason Sappelt should ever see the field. So much for a series sweep. 3 k's, 2 caught stealings, 1 pick off and 2 errors minimum for sappelt tonight.

You think Sappelt will reach base three times tonight?

Schierholtz has a decent platoon split... so if you are gonna get him a day off here and there, might as well do it against a southpaw.

2 dropped third strikes and a double play where the lead runners are out but he reaches 1st.

I think I've fully prepared myself for Garza to hurt himself tonight.

Sappelt has gotten a hit. Shocking. I think he had a hit in his last ab as well but of course was thrown out stealing.

Soriano has 2 stolen bases already tonight and he reached on a dropped 3rd. Lets go Phegley.

Didn't look like he tagged him on that pickoff.

7 Strong innings and 1 stupid unearned run on a little league throw to 2nd. Get him out of there.

I thought Navarro was going to collapse before he got to home plate.

Well this game seems to be turning out quite nice. Still 6 outs for the Cubs to close out the Sox...

I'm just happy if they can hold on they are only 9 games under .500, 3 above since may 26.

I still say resign Garza unless overwhelmed by a trade offer.

Prospects = suspects.

Now if we can get 2-3 studs, then yea maybe, but not 1 maybe a stud and a bunch of bums.

I'd rather keep Garza and we know we have a Top 2-3 starter for 4 years.

Just think if they had a bullpen since Day 1.

Right or if you can sign a fair and decent deal there's no reason he can't be moved in the off-season if some newly hired GM on another team wants to make a splash or next year's deadline. Don't just "get something" for him. I think they will play their cards right.

Yea, maybe they'd be .500. But lets not fool ourselves, a LONG way to go here.

Also, whoever gave Sappelt a jab tonight - Make it 4 hits for Sappelt
He's still awful, but make sure you continue to shit on him when he starts. Anything we can do to keep him somewhat productive

And if we had signed Keppinger

I think they know they need to "win" the trade but it doesn't seem like they've made a real effort to resign him. To me, getting guys like Garza is very hard and forget signing them as free agents unless you are willing to offer 5/85-100M.

Was there a rain delay or something? this game seems like it's been going on forever.

Keppinger is a good ballplayer. And frankly, he'd be playing at least twice a week so Castro could watch and learn. Right now they lack a backup guy who can play SS.

The Cubs would be a better team with Keppinger. I enjoyed watching the Cubs sweep the Sox and listening to the hurt in Hawk's voice.

The good thing about him for you is that he is not on the Cubs. And if he were, he would not be hitting 4th or 5th :(

What the fuck was Garza doing disrupting the game like that? Why not just stay out in the pen until the bottom of the 1st?
