Here's my take: He probably sucks but we don't know yet. With Flowers, we're certain.

The Sox are aggressive on the basepaths and the other team does something stupid. That's a welcome change.

Sox looking like a lock for a top 5 pick (if not top 3) next year.

Matt Thorton, its time to be put out to pasture. Either trade him or DFA him. He serves no purpose on this team anymore.

They might lose 100 games. Absolutely pathetic.

The best thing about this year is that De Aza will not be on the team next year.

With all the bullshit official scoring going on around MLB you're god damn right that was a hit. 6-6 a run scored, 2 rbi and 2 stolen bases for Rios. Have a night, Kid.

Well that was a fucking shock. 11 runs on 23 hits in a game Justin Verlander started. It's about time the offense did something for Quintana who had another really good start. These assholes will probably get no hit tomorrow but it was nice to see for at least one night.

Yeah, but Verlander didn't get any run support.

He got one. That should have been more than enough against a terrible White Sox offense. I guess a drunk from the corner could have started for the Tigers and the result would have been the exact same.

Right. Verlander was horseshit last night. Are you telling us he was good? He earned his loss. His "run support" was irrelevant.

He eats innings, and doesn't kill you. He has some value.

He doesn't have overpowering stuff, so there aren't a ton of strikeouts. But, his numbers are pretty good.

I think he needs to be so perfect with control its likely he'll get hit around more than not, but he is doing well as a Buehrle type, which is rare.

I figured he'd be OK. In the minors he had a remarkable ability to avoid the long ball. I guess the Sox got him as a 6-year minor league free agent? Big mistake by the Yankees.

A career WHIP of 1.27 isn't too bad in the AL. He doesn't walk many guys, or allow a lot of HRs. He is actually a pretty good #3 or #4.

He has more than just some value. He's a 24 year old lefty with pretty good stuff. He needs to be more efficient with his pitches and he needs to keep the ball in the park but for a guy who is learning how to pitch at the major league level he's doing a damn good job. The Sox have a real nice core of young (left handed) starting pitchers in Sale (24), Danks (28), Quintana (24) and Santiago (25).

They are in a tough spot. Good lineup, godawful starting 9.
