Looks like ESPN needs to take this shit a bit more seriously.

Don't just reshuffle the decks, or move around the deck chairs....really retool the station.

-I think it's J-Hoods turn for a shot at the throne. He's as solid as they come, for the most part and he's spent his time in radio jail.
-Bring in some new blood.

As for M&H....I don't, their ratings are disturbing and a poor reflection on the populace. Although they are Chicago based sports talk and that's what the people want? Maybe?

But I think it's clear that ESPN's shuffle has failed.

Listened to J Hood last night as Sox were on. Forgot how comfy his show makes me feel. Anyone have the Mac ratings and what did Mithc say in interview? I am not signing up with the Trib site.

Ya, but it's horrible sports talk....horrible, Hatchetman!

This just shows you how M&M and their crap doesn't fly in this market.

How about a real Chicago oriented sports talk show, ESPN? That would cost money, though.

I imagine ESPN radio as a whole makes a lot of money from national accounts. So regardless of Chicago's ratings relative to the score they are making tons of cash. S&W are probably thought of as a bone thrown to local fans and that slot is not taken as a huge thing. I am really surprised they run local at all anymore.

Concur. How much worse would their ratings be just running a national stream?

Considering Mike and Mike pull better ratings than W&S. The option I'm sure has been discussed by higher ups.

Bring in North,Murph & Coppock to take over that slot. Now that would draw a crowd!

Uh, guys.... What are you all talking about? The Score is "stale" and needs a shakeup; Scorehead has said that's the way it is, which means that's the way it is. Is he going to have to go outside to the DHS military man on his corner and tell them to enforce the community radio guidelines policy? I think he is.

I agree. It's like driving a working car with 150,000 miles on it. A new shiny car is just more exciting

So from January til now, B&B have gone from a 6.5 to a 5.2.

But the story is how great B&B are.

Makes perfect sense.

The score does need a shake up. I use to listen daily multiple hours, great background noise..now I listen to maybe an hour a week. Mac loves to throw the term "tallest midget " around. The score is the tallest midget in sports radio here, Congrats...the station sucks, just not as bad as 1000.

yep. the general narrative of "the score has no competition so it wins by default even though all of its shows are in decline" continues onward. I'm glad the DHS military dude made it over to your house so quickly, cuz even though he was slated to come over and see what this talk of "ReVolution" was all about; you know that whenever there's a complaint lodged by a blue-graded citizen like Scorehead, well, you get over there even quicker.

All hail the truth of the great radio narrative!

That's a good point, Speeps.

The perfect counter show would be one that chooses to argue with the athletes and management. A show that says Theo,Gar or whoever is anidiot. A show that doesn't mock a fanbase.

B&B have gone down, while the same timeslot at AM1000 has gone up. Both fairly significantly.

This trend will continue until the inevitable happens-- B&B are behind W&S in the ratings.
