I think someone in the Cubs front office (Theo) has their hand up Heyman's ass and are using him as the puppet he is to get the negotiations moving.

I read somewhere that 75% of Heyman's rumors come from Scott Boras.

The Cubs tried a lot of guys at3rd with some limited success between Santo & ARam. Ontiveros had one decent season,Cey was pretty decent, some magic seasons from Gaietti and DeRosa. Most of it was major suckage though.

There have been far too many Steve Ontiveros references the past week. Everybody stop it!!

Bryant better be knocking some onto Waveland by September for that kind of dough.

The magical Gaetti and DeRosa? I'm starting to see where your odd fascination with Jeff Keppinger comes from..

Isn't that slot value for this pick?

I've seen comments that people expect him to be ready for the bigs by end of next season. That seems like quite a bit of pressure.

Recommended slot was $6,708,400. So I guess he wasn't trying to be a pee-nus. Just trying to get what was his.

Being 21 he should prove within like 2 years he's not a busted shitbag. UMN, which A would you put him in?

I would start him at Kane County to let him get his feet wet, then ship him to AA for the last 30 games or so. Daytona gets rained out too much to send him there.

I would let him go to Kane County and then the Arizona fall league and start in Tennessee next year. They only have 6 weeks left to the minor league system once he passes the physical and stuff.

I want him far away from the rain out capital of baseball and Daytona.

Interesting how infrequently it has happened in the past 25 years or so. Like 4 guys.

If Xavier Nady can do it, so can Kris Bryant.

The preceding was just off the topof my head.

Amalfitano, JoeyJoey Amalfitano+ Second baseman Loyola Marymount New York Giants 1954

That name surprised me. Longtime Cubs coach and some time as manager too,I think.

Also,I forgot about Burt Hooton. He turned out pretty decent.

That was bullshit. It was part of his contract that they put him on the major league roster for one day then sent him to the minors. He made it back to the majors 3-4 years later.
