Larry: I have a friend who plays in the KHL?

Hey, I met Brett Sopel last year, can I say I have a friend in the KHL? I could, but I wouldnt!

Hey Larry! how about just saying Brett Sopel plays in the KHL. We all know who Brett Sopel is and not one of us or anyone thinks of Brett Sopel as 'Larrys Friend" He is a former Blackhawk, who everyone that followed the 2010 Hawks knows who he is. sopel provided commentary for NBC 5 news during the blackhawks playoffs.... so Holmes working with him for 3-4 shows probably translates in to being best buds with him.

I know they did shows together and of course he knows him, but to make it sound like "Its his friend" and none of us know him, is why the guy is a total fucking pud. The inability to mention something that simple without saying it so everyone can relate like, "Hey, Brett Sopel plays in the KHL"....not "I have a friend who plays in the KHL"

Larry is the new "mike north" as far as a lightning rod goes on the CSFMB.
I still don't mind listening to him but he does veer off the tracks in to odd and disturbing "guy talk".

Its a huge embellishment bordering on the unprofessional that is something a rank amateur would on some backwater radio station, not suitable for the third largest in the country. To North's credit, he would at least get his "friend" to come on the show just to lend some credibility.

Recently while hosting with Bernstein , Dan told a rather poignant story about a good deed performed by a person of their aquaintance and no sooner had he finished the story than Larry chimed in with "They came to my birthday party ..." Everything has to be about him and its a bonus if he can make himself look like he is an important figure on the local media scene. Self centered and a pompous ass besides.Unlistenable.
