Played in threesomes yesterday. Guys I played with were nice but both pretty slow, one slower than the
next. I swear he spent a couple of minutes lining up each putt. We had an entire open par 5 in front of us
after the front nine. I felt bad for the group behind us. I usually tapped in after missed putts and tried
to keep things moving along but this guy would mark everything outside a foot and go through his
process. I understand it but it was just really annoying and it was hot out there.

What's an easy way to make sure you're aligned correctly? There are times when I hit a shot left or right and someone will say "that's right where you were aiming".

Watch how a lot of the pros will stand behind the ball, pick the target line and then, without taking their eyes of the intended line, address the ball. They will square the clubface to the target BEFORE taking their stance. Most weekend warriors will just walk up and take their stance and then address the ball with the club.

It's really helped me develop a pre-shot routine.

As far as slow play goes, I always tell beginners that it doesn't matter how bad they are, just pay attention and be ready when it's your turn. It's that simple.

And don't keep score on the green.

As a terrible golfer, I have always subscribed to that theory Gloop.

+2. I am not good but I know and follow the protocols and no one waits on me. Ready golf, one practice swing, carry extra balls in my pocket, don't look all day for lost balls, gimme putts within the grip, walk to my ball or the green while my cart partner is getting ready to hit his shot, take all the clubs I'll need to finish the hole if I am a short distance from the green. I could go on... It is really just common sense.

My golf problem is that I can't afford to go to Mac's outing this year. Otherwise, I am perfectly comfortable with my "abilities."

The old Danny Mac would have said "you should have had a better plan".
