Got it Spark.

Well, it's just another Cubs stereotype. I understand that stereotypes tend to be rooted in truth in most cases, but that doesn't stop them from being annoying when thrown in your face.

Is the title of this thread "List of thing never said by Cub fans, but attributed to them"?

It is also obvious that those people you think are trolls aren't only talking about Cub fans on this site. However, you and many others take it personally.

Chris Sale = Randy Johnson was never said by a Sox fan, but has been attributed to Keyser.

It goes both ways is all.

Castro and Rizzo look like they may be average players now. I guess most Cub fans aren't disappointed with that. That's good.

He pretty much said that. It was separate from the throwing motion comparison, but I dont care enough to look it up.

Well, if you Cub fans don't think any of those guys is going to be good, who is going to lead that World Series team in 2016? I'll ask the way bernstein asked the Sox caller. WHO. IS. GOING. TO. BE. ON. THAT. WORLD. SERIES. CHAMPION????

But that caller said the Sox would win. I didnt say that. I said I want them to compete. I hope they DO win.

I hope 2 or 3 of the 7 or 8 main prospects pan out and some veterans around them pan out, and the timing works out and etc

Nothing to count on or predict

Not mine.

Castro is worrisome, but its too soon for panic.

I still think of both of them the same. Good major league players.

RPB is right on. He did not say Sale equals Johnson. But he has made very strong comparisons about the 2 pitchers on several occasions.

I don't think he did say that. He was making an argument that the Sox shouldn't put a plan into place to lose 100 games on purpose, specifically I think he didn't want to trade Addison Reed. Then bernstein began haranguing him about which current Sox will be around when they are good again. The only answer to such a question is "who the fuck knows?"

Can we agree that the prevailing wisdom- in the media and among fans- is that the Cub future is brighter than a star? I'm trying to get my head around why. It has to be because they have some good players. I mean LaRoche at first and Dunston at short isn't something to get me excited and start predicting World Series wins.

I think a lot of writers are looking at the Cubs comparatively to the White Sox. If you use that scale, certainly the Cubs appear closer to being competitive than the Sox do.

Outside of The Score I dont see it.

I couldn't really say that. You have to make a lot of assumptions to get there.

I think there's a basic difference in the way most Cubs and Sox fans see their teams. I say most. Guys like you and Aggravated Bob and Hatchetman and me are prone to taking a pessimistic view of the Sox. Cub fans just tend to be optimists. "Let's play two!" I don't think there's a good reason for that. In fact, history suggests it should be the opposite.
