Anyone who has sox tickets willing to sell? I'm going to look as they are probably easy to get cheap at this point, but figured I'd come here first.

Just go to the stadium and buy some for like $5 a piece.

Won't they just let people in for free in hopes that they buy some merch or concessions?

I've been wondering...
why do they let people drink in the parking lot? Doesn't that cut into Jerry's Beer revenue?

Why would anyone pay to go see the White Sux these days? I would say it's a better option to see the Chicago Cubs since they are on the right track and have better talent to watch. There are much less black people at a Cubs game as well, and none of them are going to sass you if they're there. They know their place. At a Sux game you'll see a lot more Hispanic people, too. And those people will definitely steal from you, because they're little punks. If I see you at a Cubs game, I'll give you my autograph as I'm starring in a few movies coming up and I just had another great phone call to Danny Mac. I'll see you there, if you're white.

I'm surprised that teams that have trouble drawing people don't try something like this. Offer free tickets to weekday games, where no one is buying tickets, and get them to the stadium (parking revenue), get them to buy some concessions ($5 hot dogs & $8 Beers), and you would still come away with a decent chunk of revenue.

I wouldn't offer advance tickets with this option, just walk-ups on the day of the game, if it isn't sold out.

The Sox have upper deck tickets for $5 on Sundays and $7 most other. Thats gotta be among the cheapest face value price in MLB.

That's $5 more than most people are willing to spend. They should just eat that, and bring in the other sources of revenue. You're not saying no to Little Johnny when he is crying for a hot dog and soda.

Sox fans will find an excuse not to come anyways.

Also, for any fanbase, the majority of people drawn in by a free ticket would be good people. But, you'll have that asshole minority that'll get drunk in the parking lot, go in for free and act like fucksticks. They won't care if they get kicked out since the ticket was free.

The Sox should increase their prices so that people will think it's a premium product. Worked for Jack Daniels!!!

I imagine the fear is if they do that, their already paltry season ticket list dwindles even further.

You really don't want customers who aren't willing to pay $5 to get in. You may make some money off of them but it isn't worth it, makes it more difficult on your paying customers, and makes your paying customers mad.

I've thought about that too. It's certainly not a great idea for them, but since there aren't any bars in the vicinity, I think you have to do it. Plus, it's a big difference from the Cubs, so that's a draw.

I remember reading JORR on here writing the Sox aren't the most gracious to season ticket holders. Might as well pile on I guess. :P

Bacardi at the Park and Cork and Kerry at the Park are both, strangely enough, near the park.

Lots of tickets available on their site, but no one really going cheap enough on the secondary market yet. May check out Craigslist or buy there...

White Sox fans do not only not attend games, they dont even list tickets for sale, as it is not worth their time.
I know 3 people with season tickets and we talked about it yesterday, as I told them how much I got for my Card v Cubs seats and they said they dont even make the effort to put their tickets on Stub Hub because nobody will buy them.

Let me also add this is another HUGE White SOX marketing mistake. I know they just cant let people into the park for free, but they could sell seats at Half price and do so with some type of Mid Season 1 day ticket sale. They have plenty of good (Lower level) seats to sell.

Tons of energy is expelled at 35th and Shields on keeping your job and not making a mistake or Jerry will fire you, it's the mantra in Jerry run organizations. Do an OK job, be nice to Jerry and you keep your gig. Thats Brooks Boyer to a "T". Jerry likes him, he works hard and comes up with lame, non innovative ideas on a constant basis.

Lets print up 5,000 Phil Humber Perfect Game T shirts, that's going to be a big seller! Less than 20 sold!
