5 years of talking and basically you got nothing done! And today you 100% FULLY, with the cubs plan!

You look like a total Boob to everyone inside and outside of the process. The rooftop owners who you vowed to protect, you did nothing for, the cubs think less of you than a vendor, the Mayors office cant even believe they had to get involved and the residents think you handled this with the skill of a bull in a china shop.

But in your email, where admitted you failed basically, you take salvage in the fact the cubs are willing to put the entrance to the hotel on Clark and not on the Patterson St side. HUGE WIN TOMMY!

To put this in internet terms, it was a 100% fail on your behalf!

Oh, I forgot, The cubs gave $500K to the development of a playground 4 blocks away for the poor kids in the lakeview neighborhood that have nowhere to play, except the East Bank club, Lake Shore Health club and their vacation homes in Michigan. But that was not due to Tunney, it was the Lake View council that got that.

Honorable Mention in this crap goes to crane Kenny. Remember this guy/ This was his project and you have heard NOTHING from him.

Well he did not capitulate 100%. Didn't he say the pedestrian walkway is still on the table? I guess he is afraid drunk cubs fans will dump beer on the people below.

Odds that walkway gets built? 6/5?

If that's the issue, why not enclose the thing like a skyway in Minneapolis? Problem solved! Should I send my bill for consulting to Julian Green or Crane Kenney?

Chicago doesn't really have skywalks, come to think of it. I know there's one at Citigroup Center, but that's about it, isn't it?

And yeah, Tunney looks like a total spineless putz.

Have an officer there and collect all the money from the open container violations.

Hopefully there's no taxpayer dollars being funneled into this private enterprise, as the City just had its bond rating lowered to the level denoted as equivalent to that of a Rockford crackhead asking for credit at a West side rock house.

Yeah, you wouldnt want to put any money into a cash and revenue cow for this city! That would be so stupid!

We should create a whole new revenue stream to support all the new additions at US Cellular for Jerry to make more money.

Wonder what this offseasons plans will be to drop the $4M that the State and City gives him to spend on the park, outside of maintenance and repairs. How about a nicer holding cell?

Public risk for private gains is bad policy. There's not exactly a long and illustrious history of sports teams generating revenue for their municipalities thanks to taxpayer "investment."

As if drunk fans on the rooftops have never done anything like that...Enclosing it would solve that issue (or the possibility of such an issue) but it would probably be a much bigger problem to keep it clean. Placing cameras on either side of the walk and prosecuting those who chose to engage in such obnoxious behavior would also solve the problem.

You can get a beer dumped on you just as easily at a Wrigley Bar or in the park.

I agree, bf. Tunney comes off looking like a total clown here. When will he get voted out of office?

Once the redraw his district to not include N. Halstead.

Tunney, owner of Anne Sathers has done a very good job of unifying the businesses and community groups.

LAKE VIEW CITIZENS COUNCIL is a community group that encompasses a bunch of other groups. Hawthorne Neighbors, SE Lakeview, etc etc. I only figured this out last year

Many of the businesses, rooftops, bars, etc then have fundraisers for Tunney in exchange for his support.

Thus, when it come to voting, he will be voted back in due to the commercial support he will get and someone else might not get his name out there even close to what Tunney will.

Also, when you are an incumbant alderman in Chicago, you have joint fundraisers with State Reps, etc so they tell others to support you as well.

Tunney was a complete sell out during this process.

When he said that Wrigleyville devloped on its own and not by the Cubs I almost puked.

Barleycorn
Red Ivy
Cubbie Bear
Morans
Moes
Old Crow
Deuces
Rebel
and I am sure I missed another 10 bars that are not even open during the week if there is no Cubs game. They are so big, it would cost them money to open and have less than 50 customers.

Redrawing isnt going so quick and while Halsted, does help, its not his only support.

Overall, I would say he had done a fine job until this mess.

His "up the butt" remarks are unreal. If this society weren't so "politically correct" this guy would be getting torched with these comments.

But hey, he's gay, so better not make fun of him.

2013.

Yawn.

If he wasn't gay he wouldn't be running uncontested for Alderman. But don't dare point that out in public.
