Thankfully you're not.

Good on them holding strong to their demands. Still time to go before trade deadline and he's likely the best player to be moved.

Truth. Not JedStein's fault the Rangers overpayed for dipshit Dempster last year.

I don't think they projected Hendricks as being one of the best if not the best pitcher in the Southern League this year.

OK, you guys have fun with Olt and his .200 batting average in AAA.

Who is the next best pitcher available? Bud Norris? The Astros are going to ask a lot for him since he comes with a lot more team control. Couple that with Garza's pretty good postseason numbers and the price should be high.

Hope Bucholz's setback yesterday costs him a couple weeks. More the merrier in these bids

The #Cubs told Matt Garza's agent that he will in fact be traded, according to @ESPNChicago.

Rangers being stingy to avoid making the same mistake twice? Don't want to give away another potential MegaMillions lottery ticket when they can give a known $2 scratch off winner in Olt? I would try like hell to pass off an old blind bust 1B/3B instead of a young fireballer with a ceiling. Good thing the Cubs are saying fuck you.

I'm hearing today from my sources the Cubs are about to acquire Jake Peavy and Brian Roberts. The packages going the other way possibly include players.

I've mostly stayed away from this place due to all the ancillary BS, but you guys have done a pretty damn good job in the two active Cubs threads, especially you UMN! Good stuff!

Think the lesson here is to stick to sports, ignore the rest.

I wonder what kind of package the yankees would be offering. Soriano has been productive enough and the Yankees are desperate enough that he should net 1 decent prospect and an additional low level guy.

I saw Mark Montgomery's name floated. If that's the type of prospect Sori can pull, I would be super shocked and super happy.

Rosenthal speculating it's for 1 'mid level prospect' and the Cubs would eat most of the money. We shall see.

Trading Soriano has been something many Cub fans have been calling for. I never wanted the Cubs to sign him, because he was too 1 dimensional and an absolute liability at times in the field. But that stopped being the case a couple years ago. He has become an acceptable outfielder. Further, he seems to be running better again and it's not as though guys that hit over 30 homers and drive in over 100 runs are common on this team. But with Junior Lakes emergence, along with Dejesus returning soon, they probably feel they need to open up an outfield spot before long. I am frankly amazed that he has been so productive the past 2 seasons. When the Cubs gave him an 8 year contract, I thought the last 3 were likely to be eaten, when his production would slip offensively and his defense would be so abysmal that a spot on the roster could not be justified. Instead, he has stayed productive offensively and improved defensively.
