Forgotten in all this trade talk is that tonight was Junior Lake's mlb debut and so far he has collected his 1st big league hit and 1st big league stolen base!!!!

Sori with a bomb.

You know....

Here we go...

Other than Cincy, the Cubs are only 4.5 games out of the wildcard. If the Reds just started to fall on their face.....OK...I'm done.

Yes he has from what I have seen so far. He was excellent with the Rangers a few years ago so its good to know he has done it before.

If I said that,RFDC would log on just to mock me. This was the 1st point I made LAST year before the season started. The extra Wildcard adds the factor of "who knows" to any pennant race.

Also, for a 4th string CF Junior played like a senior. Bring them all up, what's the frickin difference?

Ya bastards got me.

If Cubs could just go 8-2 on the West coast road trip, then come home and sweep the Brew crew, +.500 ball by August 1st.

Then, take 3 of 4 from the Dodgers and 2 of 3 from the Phillies and wham bam thank you maam your Chicago Cubs are in a playoff hunt...

...the next 9 games are against STL and CIN. :?

Junior Lake is a beast. A walk and a 1b already tonight in his first 2 ab's after going 3-4 last night. I think that is more hits than B Jax had in his entire time up last year.

It's plays like that that make you wonder why they fucked around playing Lake at shortstop and third base for so long when he clearly isn't a shortstop or third baseman. Good lord they're stubborn when it comes to moving a player off a position.

Ya, it was pretty much known that he would end up in the OF and he has 6 minor league starts in right or left and now 2 in center in the bigs. How many times does a big leaguer start in CF and its the first time he has played CF in his professional career?

Villanueva began the season so well, but since he was returned to the rotation, he has been pretty lousy. Not Volstad bad, but still, pretty poor. I'm anxious to see Scott Baker start a game. But with Garza likely to be gone soon, Villanueva will probably remain in the rotation just the same.
