I know they just cant let people into the park for free, but they could sell seats at Half price and do so with some type of Mid Season 1 day ticket sale. They have plenty of good (Lower level) seats to sell.

That's a tricky thing though. They do that, why am I going to send them full-price for tickets next January.

When you have seen the issue first hand and it's pretty easy to identify it, you then can only mock those who continue to perpetuate and support it without any change.

Just go and find a ticket, I am sure there will be 1000's of them

I went and got a couple tickets for $21 each. Great view. This Cubs fan always enjoys the experience at The Cell.

Lets print up 5,000 Phil Humber Perfect Game T shirts, that's going to be a big seller! Less than 20 sold!

What would you do to change it? Why are Boyer's ideas lame and non innovative?

And are people starting to care less about the Cubs? Did tickets sell this season?

You'd think after 105 years with no change, people would stop supporting.

See, there has been change, the fact you havent seen it kinda says something about you.

If I need to explain to you what the Cubs are doing, than I guess you just dont understand baseball.

As for Suggestions for the Sox, I have made them for years. As recent as a few weekends ago, nothing is ever met with acceptance, because the best way to do things is the White Sox way, which they think is the right way.

Specific suggestions about removal of Hawk, Stone, Farmer and DJ, for all the reasons explained here by many (Including Sox fans) and the response is "They do a great job"

I musta missed them because I don't usually read baseball threads.

I'm not sure why more people don't go see the Sox. They seem to be the team that most of the kids like, around here at least. Their ball park experience is far better.

It's like Big Fan said, all of this work on promotions by the Sox is pointless. You know what's the best promotion? LOWER TICKET PRICES.

28k today for a last place garbage team. Why? Cuz Sunday tickets are cheap as hell and parking is 10 bucks. I don't think the Sox got 28k on July Sundays last year and they were a first place team all of July.

Bobble heads don't get people in the door. Affordable tickets for familys do. You don't need a marketing director to figure that one out.

I don't know what the official attendance was yesterday, but it was a pretty good crowd. Of course, most of them were there for Star Wars Day and free kids' helmets. And they didn't even get rid of all the helmets because they were still giving them out today.

It's going to be very difficult to sell this brand of baseball the rest of the way out so I expect more minor league type gimmicks. I can't wait for Smurf Day!

You have to try minor league type gimmicks to draw "fans" who have refuse to show up even when the team is winning.

2012 biggest attendance night was a Monday evening in August

"House Music Night"

Let me use it in a sentence I might have heard.

"What the fuck are we supposed to do when our only sellout is for House Music night? Have ChimiChonga night too?"

They give a lot of the corner upper deck seats away to kids groups and other charities cuz it's a tax write off for Jerry and he's not gonna sell them anyway. So, while it's nice, it doesn't cost Jerry. It actually saves him money. If he could sell them, he wouldn't give them away.

By the way, go on craigslist for cheap Sox tickets. When they're this bad, season ticket holders give box seats behind home plate for free if you meet them downtown after work at or near their building. If not free, 5 or 10 bucks will get you good seats the rest of this shitty year. You'll see them that cheap on Stub Hub the day of the game.

I spend a lot of money in that ballpark every year and I can think of some things they might want to do or not do to make things more pleasant for the fans. I have to show my ticket three fucking times before I get to my seat. Why don't you just strip search me and reach up my ass while you're at it? Obviously that isn't stopping me from going to games, but it sure isn't giving me warm and fuzzy feeling either. And I start off the first inning being annoyed about half the time. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. And maybe that's part of the "hassle" that stops fans from going to as many games as they might otherwise. I could think of more things if they really wanted my opinion. But they don't. They've already decided who the fan is and what he wants and their surveys are like personality tests designed to do nothing more than confirm their beliefs and make tiny changes within strict parameters.

When do you have to show your ticket besides when entering the lower concourse and your section?

That's not really excessive.

You have to show it entering the park. Then going onto the 100 level concourse where they have morons checking the tickets and backing you up much longer than necessary and then again going down to your seat. I do think it's excessive. You're treating me like a Ligue. Don't ask me to like it.

Well going into the park is a given.

They probably should change the policy about restricting access to the 100 level, but I get why they enacted it at the time.

And checking tickets in the section is fine.

Quit yer bitchin.

:D

Fan unfriendly. When you excessively check tickets, the Ligues have won.

Yeah, it's somewhat minor. But whenever they put me through a "velvet rope" to get into the 100 level, I go from having a good feeling walking in to the park to having a slightly annoyed feeling.

Okay, here's another one. How about when you decide to sell a bucket of nasty cheese inside a keepsake helmet, you figure out a way to put a liner in there or create a dedicated place to clean the fucker out. Better yet, why not let the customer bring the dirty helmet back and hand them a fresh one, clean the dirty ones out and use them again? Oh, because that would cost a few bucks. You can save that by not paying "Losing Pitcher" John Danks $15 million a year. The last thing I want to do is wash my hands in a sink that's clogged with nacho cheese and scallions. It's fucking disgusting.

Parchment paper in the helmet would be smart but it's so minor.

At this point it seems like you're looking for reasons to be pissed.
