I don't mean to be morbid (and I hope it doesn't happen), but given how bad this team has been, and given how The Hawk has had his MLB documentary (which I liked), etc. it wouldn't surprise me to see it all end suddenly.

He says he takes these losses harder than anyone and he's made the point this is the worst Sox team he's ever seen, so you never know, this team could very well kill him.

He will be fine.

Its possible he could die and you could just do audio and video replay of him from previous games.

I've heard him say more than once this is the worst defensive team, most mental errors, etc. he has ever seen for a Sox team. Typical Hawk hyperbole? Maybe...

He knows the team is bad and if they win I think it kind of surprises him at this point. He is nowhere near as "heartbroken" this year as he's been in years past. He has been brutally honest with the team, and has ripped them pretty good this year.

To answer your question, no.

Hawk cares so much about Sox wins and losses that you could not find him anywhere near Chicago during the Sox run to the World Series. The guy lives a fiction.

And for those who criticize Hawk's silence, you'll notice he isn't doing it this season. That's because this team is so bad these games aren't crucial. When you're in a heated pennant race and Danks gives up a grand slam to Brian McCann, silence is called for. It's the only appropriate response. It's TV. You can see what happened and that homer required no description. And I certainly don't want him chatting about Vampire Weekend or Buffalo Tom in that situation. But this year, he goes right over the homer and gets quickly back to talking about which reliever had the best screwball he ever saw. That's fine.

He's just a bigger fan of playing golf than watching baseball.

If he kicked it in the booth how many seconds would it take for you to wonder if he died and wasn't just being pissed? This also assumes the Stone Pony wouldn't care enough to do anything about it.
