I'm quite okay with the kid continuing to do what he has been doing. Preaching patience didn't work with Castro...let these hitters do what they do. If it works for Lake...who cares?

Lake got another hit.

I'm not watching the game...just the stats. Did Skaggs just get all pissey and drill Navarro or was it just one that got away from him?

Hard to say as it was at his knees but you never know with Gibson calling the shots.

Doubtful though.

Weren't the Dbags all bitter over Shark chirping at Matt Williams? I can't see them holding on to that nonsense and taking it out on Navarro.

Yea I doubt that. They'd wait to go after Shark.

Couldn't they have brought the guy who hits .530 up sooner?

Or is a .530 batting average not indicative of good performance? I never know what stats mean anymore.

Graduating him to the majors damages the Cubs minor league rankings.

By the way, his initial home trot was arrogant as fuck. More please.

  I thought the same thing.

I gave him a pass, though, since it was his first.

Nice job by the bullpen after Russin went 5 decent innings. Gregg getting yet another save, may well be the next to go in a trade. But as long as they get a good prospect in return, that's fine. Gregg is not likely to bring a top level prospect, but perhaps a good class A power arm with a high ceiling.

Not that he's anywhere close to this, but I was curious what the record was:

Consecutive game hitting streaks to start a career
Code:
Chuck Aleno      17   Cincinnati Reds        1941
Juan Pierre      16   Colorado Rockies       2000
Dale Alexander   13   Detroit Tigers         1929
Mike Woodard     13   San Francisco Giants   1985
Rocco Baldelli   13   Tampa Bay Rays         2003
Glenn Williams   13   Minnesota Twins        2005

Let players be. The fuckhead was following Ransom. He needs to mind his damn business behind the plate.

That looked low in the glove but idk if it was in the zone or not when it crossed the plate. They were too busy going to commercial and showing the argument to show the pitch tracker thing.

Forget the glove. That pitch has good downward movement, so when it was caught (after crossing the plate as a strike) it was certainly a bit low. Taking with 2 strikes, not real smart there. I think it was an actual strike, but for the sake of argument say it was an inch or two low. Should the batter be taking a pitch that might be barely out of the zone with 2 strikes on him??? No way.

Cubs had Corbi's pitch count up to 61 or 62 and they go down with a 6 pitch inning in the 4th.
