I missed this. Are you serious? I don't believe I have ever done that. I never believed my avatar would be the reason no one reads my posts. The content usually is enough.

Seriously, I thought the smarmy CSI Miami guy is a goof and fun to poke fun at. I am now curious what a proper avatar should be as I clearly don't understand the concept.

I was exaggerating. You are definitely not an arrogant type or anything.

But the avatar does matter. Sometimes it feels like the person in your avatar is the one talking/posting. Maybe its just me.

I just think David Caruso is annoying.

I tend to agree on Caruso. But his schtick on this show is so over the top bad it fits me. I am open to suggestions. Big Chicagoan has made a nice change. Not sure I can pull off the boob thing.

Since we are in the thread, I CAN"T WAIT for Laurence's thoughts on Manto's comments this morning. He always speaks his mind on all things WSOX.

You can take OKC's spot. He's trying desperately to get out of it, although he's also the one locking himself into it, so who knows...

P.S. He's taken...don't forget it

Yeah, but what happens when he is not taken (heaven forbid). I ain't in it just to keep a spot on the bench warm.

And what is this IMU thang. Last thing I need is being stalked here and elsewhere whilst he furiously types. (this is a calm  )

So tonight, to kick off THE PEOPLE'S HOUR COLON WE DO WHAT WE WANT, not only did we find out that Laurence doesn't "power down" (take off his lantern ring?) til appx midnight, but still, despite all of that he wakes up early in the morning and watches CBS' morning show (cuz you know, he's a good CBS corporate guy who just happens to work for NBC. 75/25 allegiance)

and now he's running audio of a CBS morning show segment (for HRRRBBBB) about how applebee's and other people are forcing tips into people's checks, aka automatic tipping. This will undoubtedly draw the ire of Herb, alongside some other people who note that tipping is supposed to be optional.... but in NYC some places are adding in "gratuity" not even for parties of 6-8/+, and then you look at the check and it shows the food total, taxes, added in 18% gratuity, AND THEN HAS A LINE FOR ADDITIONAL TIPPING..... ha!

Of course, our guy Herb isn't taking this sitting down.... he's arguing that aside from the obvious dick move, that when you've got people who wanna tip 25%, they're gonna see this mandatory added 18.5% thing and be like "fuck you" and then be way less likely to tip that 25% that they were gonna tip anyways. He's pulling for the class action lawsuit to go through and get rid of this travesty, while Laurence is saying that if a place he frequented started doing this to him, he'd stop frequenting said restaurant.

Herb's also taking umbrage with this (aside from the 6-8 person rule) because if you get shitty service you have no recourse, and there's that unsaid thing that waiters in a mandatory-tip-spot can be shitty now and they know exactly what they're getting..... OR WAIT, this isn't herb.... this is Joe O or someone piping up because he's purporting to be a ~25% tipper and we know that Herb isn't a tipper.... so yeah, Joe's pointing out that if you have an appetizer and a water that you're going to get utterly shitty service, and it's awful.

So yeah, once again, THE PEOPLE'S HOUR COLON WE DO WHAT WE WANT is off and rolling, as tonight's conversation between Laurence/Herb/Joe-O is clearly what the people have been begging for all show long. Since I know you're interested, be sure to get that radio tuned to 670AM and get those texts over to 67011 and as always, 312-644-6767 cuz this is doing what you want, yeah you can talk Chicago sports, but this is the conversation. GET INVOLVED!

If he's in studio, Tuesday is the show you really want to listen to, as you can hear how Laurence came this close to fighting him.

Sir comes on at 7 tonight.

He's talking Bears, baseball, the new Wolverine movie, and replays the CM Punk interview at 9.

SOLID.

That Wolverine movie will probably close out my summer viewing. Sad it comes & goes so fast.

The very good:
Iron Man 3
Olympus has fallen
White House Down

The mediocre:
Fast 6
Lone Ranger
Man of Steel
I forgot what the hell else I saw

I liked Iron Man 3 and Fast 6 was good. Was VERY disappointed in Man of Steel though.

Wasn't it? Herbie loves his biscuits.

Is Red Lobster doing a Dominick's to the Chicago area?

Rashied Davis has been solid in his thoughts about the game yesterday.

Gotta give Larry props for having him on

It's Larry's world. We should be thankful he allows us in.
