No. Those people aren't Bulls fans. They're Jordan fans. Real Bulls fans respect studs whithersoever they may reside.

Bernstein always says, he'll never begrudge someone for invoking a no-trade they negotiated. However, if you're the owner of a Wrigley rooftop, looking to protect the contract you negotiated, you're going to get begrudged.

Link?

There's absolutely no even remotely legitimate website reporting this.

We're reporting it.

In the Soriano retrospective, can we go back to the old Score position that the Cubs were spending tons of money on contracts to increase the value of the Cubs for sale? I miss that one.

 Thats awesome. I had yet to begin listening to sports radio then.

I am curious as to why other firms across the globe haven't begun this strategy of loading up on liabilities to boost their market values.

Why would the Cubs have a copyright on bear suits? Do the White Sox have a copyright on people with Sox on?

Well in fairness the logic behind it was those contracts would lead to a World Series title, which would increase the value of the franchise.

I agreed with that logic, except I hated the Soriano signing at any price.

Dubious. They were already max'ing out attendance. Loading up a half-billion dollars of long-term contracts didn't seem like a good strategy for increasing value.

I thought we overpaid for Soriano, but didn't mind getting a guy coming off a 40/40 season. The signing that I did not care for even shares the name with a board game manufactuerer. Jimmy Hasbro.

What they were doing was looking to replace Sosa as a spectacle. That failed, and now we see that, short of that spectacle, and short of winning, they really don't draw as well. Soriano was just a failure, through and through.

Fair enough. Obviously it didn't work out. Sam Zell got into the Tribune company right at the height of the newspaper industry so the guy was obviously shrewd.

yeah, that was completely misguided too, based on a knee jerk Steve-Stone'ish reaction that there were not enough lefthanded bats.

Plus Abreu and Ibanez were both on the market but Hendry was like you know what? Lets sign the lunatic instead. It was a free agency period that made me feel the pain that only Knicks fans normally feel.

Bernstein sounded like a fool as he often does when trying to sound like a lawyer. Who fucking cares what this guy does or why he does it. And trademark infringement isn't "illegal". You may be liable for damages, but only crimes are illegal.

I wanted Ibanez in a Cub uniform in the worst way.

So, the Cubs WON'T have all that money just ready to go. NICE. About time they figured out this whole Cubs thing may not work so easily.

Guessing we get a "by cracky" question, and probably a Hawk and Murph question.

The reason they switch off the cameras after The Danny Mac show is so folks don't notice that Boers is nowhere near the actual studio.

basically what you and I said earlier. It's not a guaranteed moneymaker with the ala carte stuff being discussed. They mentioned that both Houston and San Diego were having trouble getting their games carried because Time Warner wouldn't accept their CSN.

The notion of an unofficial mascot is really pitiful, but did Dan really have the guy on just to yell at him for taking money away from the Rickettses?
