I noticed yesterday morning that I wasn't getting Showtime anymore but didn't really think that much of it.
That was until I realized that my DVR didn't tape Dexter and Ray Donovan last night. Come to find out that
TWC and CBS are squabbling over some fees and so TWC just pulled the channel and others owned by CBS
completely. I am going to have to make a phone call this week and find out how they are going to make
this right on my next bill. I am more upset that I am missing a couple of shows that I really enjoy.

Move to Chicago, where you can have the great Comcast, where they send you a bill to inform you that they are going to charge you for a modem rental, even though you bought said modem at Best Buy.

I mean...while it is a stupid mistake...99.9% of people rent modems from Comcast. They probably blindly put the monthly rental charge on there.

When I had Comcast they never tried to do that to me though.

I've been using my own modem for years until it crapped out on me about 2 months ago, and went to go buy another. Got a letter in the mail about it Friday, and I called to tell them, thinking it would a simple "ok", but after getting transferred around, I was told that I needed to go to a Comcast location with my receipt. I would think that the serial number should notate if the modem is owned or rented. Back in the day when I worked at Sprint, the serial numbers would let us know where the phone was originally purchased from.

If the charges continue, you may see a Dear Fixer letter from me. :D

18 Months from now, there will be one or two cable companies.

If you want to invest in something, Cablevision of NY. They will be bought out. They arent a national company, but they have almost all of NYC. After that the dominoes will fall in place and the content guys will have zero leverage

Why would they do that, when they gave you a nice "family" cable station to take its temporary place?
